School Pictures - Fall 2016

Connor had school pictures taken this fall and I'm not going to lie. I completely forgot.
It was scheduled for a Monday (I can't remember anything all weekend.)
Luckily I didn't hate his outfit, but he was in desperate need of a haircut and they helped me out by giving him a severe comb-over ;)

I'm going to show you our three favorites that we picked,
and then the other ones they showed at the bottom.

You can see his previous school pictures here:

These are the three that we chose:

His little hand in his pocket. :)

These are the other ones:

I'm hoping one day I will actually remember picture day
and have him in a planned outfit with a fresh haircut! :)

August 2016

August is the hottest month of the year and I was still feeling sick
and tired from my pregnancy so we did a lot of watching the Olympics, resting
and staying inside during August.
Get ready for lots of sleeping Connor pictures. :)

We started August off on a Monday and when I got to my desk I saw this....

I really felt like I was losing my mind! My memory has really been affected
this pregnancy and it is so crazy how hormones can really make
me feel like I'm not even myself.

My friend (a mom from Connor's school) got this from
their teacher and posted it on IG. hahaha
monkey see, monkey do

On Tuesday, we read books when we got home and tried to text Leslie a picture of Connor's monkey tank top. I never thought my son would wear tank tops, but I actually think they are so ridiculous they are kind of cute. Please ignore his dirty face.

We were planning to head to Angel Fire at the end of the week
and so I started checking the temperature to get excited!

Connor and I have a smooth running operation in the morning.
I get him milk/breakfast and he sits on our bed watching the iPad
(or as he calls it - Bubble) while I get ready, pack his lunch, change
his diaper and get him dressed.
It was working well for us.

Thursday, I got this text from Connor's teacher and Cecil met me at
home to take Connor to the doctor. I headed back to work to try to wrap some
things up since I would be out of the office for a few days.

Connor started feeling better rather quickly.
Thursday evening Zay stayed the night,
and we packed up and headed out to Angel Fire early Friday morning.

We got home Tuesday evening and watched the Olympics before calling it a night.

We were watching the Olympics Wednesday night when
Connor passed out on me. I love those sweet snuggles.
We taught Connor to chant  "USA USA USA" with a fist in the air
which was my favorite trick of his at the time.

Cecil had bought fresh subway bread and Connor insisted on having it for breakfast.
 The boy loves his carbs!

Friday, it was just Connor and I and we took a nap together in my bed.
Look how sweet he is when he is sleeping.

Saturday we rested at home and watched the Olympics
(are you noticing a pattern here)
Connor took his nap on Cecil in the most unusual way.
Whatever works.

Sunday Connor took his nap on me while we....you guessed it! Watched the Olympics!
My favorite sport this year was Women's Beach Volleyball.

After he woke up, he played and played in all his (soon to be packed up) toys.
Look at that pile of stuff! It was taking over our living room.

I found the most perfect shirt for my current state:

Here's another accurate picture of how we function on weekday mornings.

Saturday morning Connor, Cecil and I went to a 3D ultrasound place to find
out the gender of our little baby. We found out we're having a GIRL!!!!!

We were both super excited, but it kind of sparked a fire under us to really
attempt to get our house on the market and move somewhere else before she comes.
Yikes!

Cecil's Mom and Sister came over to watch Connor so we could go out
for the afternoon/early evening. They were both excited to hear we were
having a girl - even though Cecil's mom said she already knew
because she had a dream. :)

We met our friends at a Brewery to
 celebrate 3C's birthday.

Warming up for the group picture.... LOL

I just love these friends. And I'll be glad when I can partake in a little drinking again.

We left the brewery and had dinner at Uncle Julio's.
Cecil thoroughly enjoyed dinner and was super excited to pack up a to go box
from his (and everyone else's) leftovers.
On the way home, he just wanted to check out his tires.....LOL
And then he accidentally stepped on his to go box getting out of the truck. LOL
He doesn't let loose and drink very often, but it is always so much fun when he does.
He's so silly.

Monday was the boys and Leslie's first day back to school, but I'll blog about that in another post.

Cecil found some earrings that I bought and must have gotten confused
and thought they were for him. No. No. No.

Connor's teacher sent me this picture of Connor and said:
Knocking over the sheep with the dinosaur - he's such a boy!
He has been really into animal sounds lately and I can just hear him saying 'rahhhrr'

After school, Connor was relaxed watching TV in his chair. haha

Friday Connor woke up early, so I put him in bed with me to try to try to extend our sleep a little.
And, you guys, it worked!!!

Cecil and I started getting serious about packing up the house and 'de-cluttering.'
We also had to move all over our stuff out of the living room, bedroom,
patio, and garage to prepare for foundation work that was going to be done.

Saturday morning, Cecil let me rest a little late and took Connor to
Home Depot to get some storage tubs.

I promise this is the last sleeping picture of Connor for the month.
I guess I just took so many pictures, because sleeping was my favorite hobby this month.
Pregnancy tired is a whole other kind of tired.

We celebrated Kaylee's first birthday It was a super cute party and she tore up her cake!
Connor love the party favor glasses.

But he also loved stealing all of Kaylee's gifts. Ooops.
He got away with it this time, but I think she might care next year.

Our sweet, generous friends, gave us this toddler recliner and rocking
horse for Connor. He LOVED the recliner immediately.
Unfortunately, we moved it to storage soon after getting it,
so he will have to LOVE it at our next place. #fingerscrossed

It took him a couple days to warm up to the rocking horse.
Every time he walked in the door he would point and say 'neighh' just not go close,
but it only took a couple days before he loved riding it.

Sunday we met my family to celebrate Nana's 96th birthday.
We met at the same steakhouse as last year, when we celebrated her 95th.

August was rough on me. I know I'm a broken record - but this pregnancy has been no joke.
September, I started feeling a little more like myself, and was a little more productive.
I'm going to try to catch up this month on my little blog, because I know the holidays will bring lots of fun that I won't want to forget. :)

Angel Fire - Summer 2016

I was looking back at last year, and apparently I made THREE whole post about our trip to Angel Fire, and this year I barely have enough pictures for one post. Ooops
In case you want to see last year: One, Two, Three

Well this year, we had a smaller group. Mom and Dad spent nearly a month at Angel Fire towards the end of the summer.

I had asked Leslie if one of the boys wanted to ride with us out there early on Friday since she was coming from San Antonio late on Saturday. Well, I figured Noah would because he loves special time with his Ampa, but she let Zay choose and he said he wanted to go with us.
I was a little nervous he would be bored with us, and I think he was. LOL

We got there Friday evening and watched the Opening Ceremony of the Rio Olympics.
I just love the Olympics and this particular year I was super excited and we watched a lot of it!
Mom cooked a delicious German meal. Unfortunately, I was pretty sick and couldn't eat.
But Cecil loved it!

Saturday, we hung out at the condo to get 'acclimated' to the higher altitude and again - I'm sure Zay was super bored with just us adults and Connor.

Ampa loves to pick on Connor everyone and it was sweet because Zay was super protective of Connor and would 'team up' with him against Ampa. At one point Ampa had Connor in the chair and Zay was using a mirror to shine the sunlight on Ampa from the couch.
That Zay - he is so clever!

Ampa picked up Angel Fired Pizza for dinner Saturday and then
Leslie, Noah and (surprise!) Riley arrived! Yay!

We watched some more Olympics and played lots of Guess Who and Backgammon.

Sunday morning we spent lots of time playing outside.
The boys played catch with the Frisbee and Football,
Zay and Riley played pretend campfire, and Grams came up with a game of
getting a rock to stay on top of the tree trunk you see below.
It was actually pretty fun and competitive. ;)

I also used this time to take some 18 month of pictures of Connor.
I had planned to take great pictures of him with the beautiful scenery in the background,
but it just didn't happen. I just felt so sick.

We went to a little Farmer's Market they had set up. It was super cute.
There was face painting and lots of cotton candy.
The weather was beautiful and it was just nice to be outside with the gorgeous views.

We tried to get Connor to be the fourth ninja turtle, but after one swipe of orange to his face - he was NOT having it! So Leslie completed the squad.

Cecil, Mom, and Leslie took the boys to fish. I'm guessing the boys are waiting on Cecil here.
That's how I feel too when I have to wait on Cecil. ;)

These two god brothers play so well together. They are both so imaginative and creative.

And apparently very brave!

They caught a few crawdads.

Connor and I had to go home to nap. Please excuse the horrible picture of me.
But I wanted to remember how he fell asleep with his blanket in his mouth. LOL

Finally after he was in a deep sleep, I was able to turn over off my hurting hip,
and try to take a little rest myself.
Please note his attempted turtle mask. :)

Connor is very finicky with Ampa. Sometimes he is happy to snuggle. Sometimes he is NOT.

Monday, Cecil and Dad played golf while Leslie and I took the boys to the park,
and to play tennis. Grams stayed home with Connor while he napped.

We spent the afternoon at the condo. Mom, Leslie, and the boys played outside in the
trees behind the condo.
Connor joined them after I got super sick. Then, after a little while I was feeling better and joined them too. They had a big blanket set up and it was so nice to enjoy the outdoors.

After a nice dinner at the country club, we tried to beat daylight and headed
back to the park to play again. This time, Connor was able to play too.
The boys played for about an hour. They started with Cecil pushing
them on the merry-go-round. Connor loved the slides.

All the adults left except Cecil and I because it was so cold.
I really wish we could have brought the weather back home with us!!

Tuesday morning, we got up bright and early and headed home.
Connor rocked himself on the footrest a few times while we were there and he was especially sleepy Tuesday morning. Noah covered him with his blanket - so sweet.

And with that - AF Summer 2016 was a wrap!
Being sick just makes everything harder, but I'm glad we got some
nice quality family time in cooler weather.
