March 2016 - Two

I'm going to continue on recapping our March. After not being in a single picture on the first recap, I have decided to make a conscious effort to get in front of the camera more in April!

Friday morning Connor and I got up, got ready and headed to my cousin's house to have a little playdate with her and her three kiddos. She has 4 year old twin boys and a 2 year old daughter.

Connor tried really hard to get his Teddy out of his crib. ;)

While I was trying to get Connor's bag off the hook, the entire strip of hooks fell down off the wall. Womp. Womp.
It was a huge mess and I'll admit it made me a little cranky!
I might have overloaded it. Lesson learned.

We got to my cousin's house and spent all morning there. Addy was super sweet to play with Connor and share all of their toys. He really enjoyed their trampoline. I might see one in our future....eventually.

These cute boys were so fun and sweet.

It was a great visit and I hope we can do it again soon. :)

Connor slept on the way home and I planned to have a chick fil a picnic in the living room, but I was disappointed that Connor really didn't want any chicken, only French fries.

Friday evening we met our dear friends to have one last dinner before they move to China for two to three years. :(

While we were leaving the restaurant we remembered to get a picture. The weather was nasty and kids were tired so the pictures aren't great, but this is what we got. The next time we see our dear friends these kids will be a lot bigger!

Oh look! There I am. The four of us adults. :)
Saturday morning Leslie brought her two Cub Scouts over to our house and we headed out to the Rocket Academy. Tammi and Austin were so sweet to actually want to go to a scout activity in the nasty weather. We loved having them meet us there.

This is the boys faces when we finally arrived at the location and they saw a bounce house (among other activities) was set up.
Please note sleeping Connor.

I'll be the first to admit I was not thinking straight. I went in flip flops! Every single other person was either in Tennis shoes or hiking boots. I just didn't realize we would be practically hiking around out there.
I hung out in the truck while the boys did some stuff, then I met them inside where they made their rockets and Connor....well he pretty much just loved walking around on his own.

Cecil took this picture right after they had come in out of the rain.
Our little astronaut.

Tammi really was the sweetest to help the boys build their rocket. She's the best!

The boys did lots of rocket activities, we all ate, and then they set off their rockets. I think they both had a great time. But I think we were all pretty exhausted. The plan was to go to my parents house to celebrate my Dad's birthday, but we were so exhausted we asked if we could gather at Leslie's.

About 2 minutes after we drove away, I turned around and Connor was chewing on his blanket. Then he fell asleep with it in his mouth. He was exhausted!

On the way to Leslie's we played a little trivia game. Then I cracked myself up when I kept saying 'Fourth Worth Botanical Gardens' and 'Fourth Worth Zoo' and talking about all the fun things in 'Fourth Worth.' At first they corrected me saying that it was FORT Worth, but then Cecil started doing it too and they were saying 'Fourth Worth' by the end of the drive home.
It made my day. :)

We went to Leslie's and celebrated my Dad's birthday with my parents, and my brother, SIL, and niece. Cecil played with Turner a little on the floor and it was super cute to me. :)
Russell picked up food from a local Polynesian restaurant and it was good.

I wish I had gotten a big group picture. But I did not. :(

That night Connor fell asleep snuggling his blanket and the peg version of me from our wedding.
Swoon.

Sunday we went to Macy's to get Cecil some new church clothes that fit since he has lost weight.
We were there for hours, ya'll. Shopping with a baby that can't walk that well and refuses to stay in his stroller is not my idea of a good time.
Connor did love looking in the mirror.
And apparently he likes what he sees.
Sweet boy.

After shopping, Leslie picked me up and we went to meet some sweet friends for a late lunch.
We called it a Sister's lunch because as kid we had a 'Sister's Club' with these girls.
Lifelong Friends are priceless.
My habit of forgetting to take group pictures is annoying.

Monday was picture day at Connor's school and....I forgot.
I took this picture to show Connor his outfit.
I guess he was a little grumpy this Monday morning...me too, sweetheart, me too.

Since Connor has been such a great sleeper lately, I have wanted to sneak in and take pictures of him before I go to bed. He is just so sweet. Look at those baby toes. I could stare at them for hours.

Wednesday, Leslie and I met for a sushi lunch. And it was good.

Wednesday evening Cecil took Connor on a swing ride.

Another sleeping baby picture because I'm kind of obsessed with him.

Usually he wakes me up and let's me know he is ready to get up. On Thursday I actually got ready, and then he was still asleep so I had to wake him up. I love when his belly pokes out. :)

Thursday was St Patrick's Day and Connor wore his cute shirt Auntie Leslie got him.
He looks sad, but he was just a little slow to wake up.

But then he brightened right up when I gave him a waffle and started playing with him.

Friday morning Connor wore another cute onesie from his sweet Auntie.
We stayed home and played on the iPad,

And he worked on his Hulk Smash skills. His Daddy would have been so proud.

Saturday was one of my favorite days of the year - the St. Patty's Day Parade.
It is always a good time and this year followed suit.

I went to Leslie's house bright and early and met her and her friend.
We drove to Dallas and met my friends at their hotel.
We made our way to the Parkit Market parking lot that we always hang out in for the parade.

Leslie had decided to bring a 'bar in a bag' including vodka, ginger beer, mint leaves, cups and straws.
Her friend bought a rose and Leslie eventually made a bouquet. haha

Oh my! Trying to get a group selfie. Didn't work very well. This year I felt like I spent a majority of the day trying to find a bathroom to use. It was super annoying. While I was gone using the restroom one time, Leslie and her friend left! Rude!!

We continued to hang out and we randomly ran into my Brother and SIL
and a couple of their friends at a bar we went to. Marie saw me in......the bathroom line. LOL
AGAIN. Why did I not get a picture with my brother? I do not know.

We went back to the hotel for the Happy Hour....and Nicole and I ran into Peppa Pig! haha
#drunkmomlife

We tried to get a girl picture and this is what we got. Hilarious.
I had planned to get a Uber to take me back to my car at Leslie's and I downloaded the app and everything just to learn that prices were $4.76 per mile - almost 6 times the normal rate!! Yikes!
I called Leslie and she came and picked me up. Good sister. :)

At Leslie's we watched a little March Madness before I headed home.
Sunday morning, Cecil, Connor and I went to a (new to us) church
down the street that Cecil's co-worker had invited us to.
It was Palm Sunday and Connor did great in the nursery. I enjoyed being able to focus on the preacher and not worry about entertaining (and keeping quiet) Connor.
My boys looked especially handsome in their pink and purple. And of course!
I forgot to get someone to take a picture of the three of us. :(

Connor had his first Easter Egg hunt and his first balloon animal,
but I'll write more about that in our Easter post.
He did a great job! :)

Sunday evening the Aggies were playing so I dressed Connor in his maroon.
He's actually wearing boy boxer briefs as shorts. I think they are super cute on him! :)

Connor was in bed, but the Aggies pulled off the greatest comeback ever!
They ended up winning the game in the second overtime.
It was amazing!!!

I'll be back later in the week to wrap up March and blog about Easter. :)

March 2016 - One

Well life definitely changed this month as Connor is a full fledged WALKER. It is my absolute favorite!!! It's so wobbly and unstable. He falls often and makes the best faces when he loses his balance. I just adore this stage he is in right now.

Connor has definitely taken on a LOVE for stuffed animals. He is obsessed with them and if he sees one, he has to have it near him. He will give them unprompted hugs and kisses which is super cute.

At Connor's school we get a paper every day saying when they ate, were changed, slept, etc. The first week of March Connor came home with this one.....

I lolled when I read it. I brought it home and showed Cecil at dinner. This is when I realized Cecil apparently had never even read one of his sheets, because I had to explain each section to him before he got to the bottom where a newish (to Connor) teacher had written "he said the word Lizard"
hahahhahhaha
We were both laughing so hard. I mean he can't even say Mama yet. Apparently his vocabulary progressed as follows:
Duck
Dada
Ball
Lizard.
;)
We do love Ms. Ashley and how sweet she is to read to Connor and write us notes letting us know how his day was. :)

Connor's bedtime routine has gone down....DRASTICALLY. All he really wants is a bottle and bed. Cecil typically brushes his teeth, changes him, puts on PJs and then they turn on the sound machine and turn off the lights together. Then Cecil gives him to me, says goodnight and leaves the room. I rock him while he holds his bottle and sometimes I sing a little. Then he will hand me his bottle when he is done. Sometimes I will try to get him to burp by patting his back, and he will snuggle into me a little, but he is ready for bed.
We still need to work on giving him his bottle before brushing his teeth and we just need to commit to making the change, but right now he is a little angel and as soon as he is done with his bottle he will go to his bed, curl up with his blanket and go to sleep. Never any fussing. I love him so much!

Friday Connor and I hung out at home.

He LOVES to 'steal' Cecil's seat and even made himself at home there when Cecil was gone. Look at that belly. heart eyes.

Connor went down for a nap and Cecil was able to come home early.
My favorite!

Cecil, Connor and I went to eat a late lunch at Uncle Julio's and visited the Container Store. I wanted to get a picture of Connor with the statues, but he was having NONE of it. He wasn't screaming, but he was definitely unsure. I mean, could he move his body any further away????
Cecil and I were dying laughing.

Then, Leslie called me (thank goodness) and reminded me that I was supposed to pick the boys up! We hurried over to Bedford and picked the boys up from school.  Cecil might have gotten a red light ticket on our way. Ooops.
I was just glad it wasn't me for once!!

I convinced everyone that it was a good idea to go to Home Goods. I just knew we could find some cute baskets for our laundry room storage, but no such luck. We only left with a lamb for Connor's Easter basket and I purchased a gaudy(!!) elephant for Noah because he thought it was beautiful and I like annoying my sister. ;)

While we were at Home Goods, Cecil found a trike and Connor was a happy, happy boy! Then, of course Noah and Zay had to get in on it and I was terrified we were going to be buying lots of broken goods.

Zay wanted to make sure he could fit in each pot. Success. LOL

Noah's favorite animal is an elephant. First we found this and then later found his beloved golden one (picture further down).

After Home Goods we told the boys we could go to the park until the sun went down. The Boys Ranch in Bedford had built a new playground and they wanted to show us.

This was the first time that I think Connor actually knew what to do at a park. It was super cute and I think Cecil was really happy we ended up going.

He is the sweetest Dad. :)

Noah and Zay had fun climbing this new thing. Of course they had to race to the top and Noah won. It's hard being the little brother.

We went home, Leslie met us there where Leslie Zay and I played a REALLY slow game of Sorry while Noah snuggled with his elephant

Saturday morning Leslie offered to watch Connor so Cecil and I could get some stuff done around the house. #SweetAuntie

We met Leslie, Noah, and Zay for breakfast at Denny's and the boys were super sweet to walk Connor to the car afterwards. He walked the entire way (holding their hands) from inside the restaurant to the back of the restaurant. #babymarathon

I just love this pictures of my sweet boys.

We went home and got some things done while Leslie took all three boys to the Home Depot Kids Workshop.

Then the boys went home, had a pizza party, and played outside all day. We were fortunate to have some BEAUTIFUL weather this month and Noah and Zay were outside more than ever.

Cecil hung the mirror that I had painted for the front room in November. It is H.E.A.V.Y. It actually came with our dresser, but since our dresser is in front of a window we don't use it.

Cecil and I picked up some BBQ and headed to Leslie's to get Connor. We ate our lunch outside and watched the boys play.

Sunday, Cecil took this picture of Connor climbing in his truck. Our little daredevil. :)

I made another yummy Hello Fresh meal

And Connor really enjoyed the cous cous.

The second week of March was my Mom's spring break and she came into town and stayed with Leslie a couple nights. I had lunch with her two days in a row which was so nice. :)

Tuesday after school Connor and went to Leslie's and hung out with Mom and the boys outside before they had to go to scouts. Zay is seriously talented at fixing bikes. And he decided his bike needed a wash. Connor got in on the action.
Sweet cousins.

Thankfully, Connor wasn't walking too quickly at this point, because he wasn't running into the street, but times have already changed. He rode the skateboards and his little car in her driveway while Mom and I watched the boys ride around on their bikes and talked.
It was the perfect spring evening. :)

Wednesday I made a delicious Hello Fresh meal.....

.... and Cecil taught Connor how to use the Hulk! Smash! gloves.

Thursday I showed Connor the Russian nesting doll that I have and he played with it for a long time!  Then he realized he is big enough to climb in the chairs in the front room and was extremely proud of himself! The first time it took him a couple minutes, but by the end of the night he was up in that chair in a matter of seconds.

Then, he thought it would be a great idea to break my new bowl from Hobby Lobby. :(
He just threw it off the coffee table onto the floor and this happened. oops.
I guess the table will just have to stay completely empty for now.

I'm going to try to wrap March up and blog about Easter this week. :)
