May 2016 - Two

I'm going to wrap up May's recap today. When I left off before,
my girls trip to Mexico was coming to a close.
We got back late Saturday so Sunday morning snuggles were on the menu.

Followed by morning naps, playtime, and afternoon naps.

In the evening we headed to the park. Connor loves being in his wagon, and REALLY loves the playground. He does not love being pulled away from the playground. LOL
This trip to the playground I really solidified my opinion that Cecil is
a helicopter parent. He followed him around everywhere making sure he didn't
knock his head on anything.

During bathtime Connor found his penis.
And it has been his favorite toy since. ;)

While I was gone Cecil spotted Connor trying to climb out of his crib on the monitor so
Sunday night he lowered it all the way down to the last notch. :(
Next stage with be converting it to a toddler bed.

Monday morning Connor had a hard time waking up so I took a few pictures of him in his
recently lowered crib.
I just love that booty in the air pose.

Leslie was super busy at school and since the boys' school is close to my office,
sometimes I can attend some things she can't make.
Tuesday I went to Zay's Kindergarten awards ceremony.
He received the reward for "RESPECT" and I was so proud.

Noah had wanted to come so I pulled him out of class beforehand.
After the award ceremony we went back to Zay's classroom.
He showed us some of his art.
I just love this fish - now its hanging above Connor's changing table.
Its so bright and colorful.

I caught a picture of Zay showing Noah around the room.

Noah was actually in the same Kindergarten room with Mrs. Uribe two years prior.

We snuck Zay out of class quickly to go to the book fair.
Noah chose a scary book and Zay chose a science project. ;)
Look at these cuties!!

Later Tuesday evening the boys had Scouts and we joined because they were advancing
to their new group. Connor loves running around like a crazy man and watching all the big kids.

Noah promoted Zay to a Wolf and Noah became a Bear.
Zay had fun howling like a wolf all night. :)

On Thursday, I was running late so Connor went to Noah's 2nd grade
award ceremony with me. What a ham!

Don't tell Noah but we were so late that we missed the first class - and of course it was his!!!
But, Noah got the EXEMPLARY BEHAVIOR award.

A picture with his super sweet teacher that he loves.

And his best friend that he already wants to follow to college.
Grady was wearing his matching #bros shirt that they usually wear on Fridays,
but they had field day on Friday this week.
Noah had wanted to wear his shirt too - but Leslie wouldn't let him.

Thursday evening Cecil, Connor and I had a fun night at home together.
Connor was obsessed with lying on Cecil's chest and watching the ball
as Cecil threw it up and down.

Then Cecil did his little 'trick' where he puts balls in Connor's shirt
and this time - shorts. LOL

Its a little hard to see, but he had a chest and booty.
It made me laugh super super hard.

Friday was Career Day at Leslie's school. This is her first year as a school
counselor and Career Day is her biggest event to put on.
I visited four classrooms - the first two were with my Dad and I just let him talk the whole time.
The second and third I talked briefly. :)
Leslie did such a great job putting the whole day together.
Everything was super organized and flowed smoothly.
There was Chick fil A provided for breakfast and Jason's Deli for lunch.
I was seriously a #proudsister that day.

After we ate the catered lunch, Dad and I headed to the boys school for Field Day.
But we had missed it. Ooops.
We were able to eat lunch with Noah and peeked in on Zay's class watching a movie.

After our failed attempt at Field Day, Dad went back to Leslie's to work and
I went to Joe T Garcia's to meet Russell, Marie, and their friend for drinks.
Cecil was able to join us and I got this picture of him being silly. ;)

We picked up Connor from school and had a nice quiet Friday evening at home.

Saturday morning Tammi & Austin came over.
We went to lunch then a local park and I remembered to bread for the ducks!
Only problem was......Connor totally did not get the concept and just ate the bread himself.
#fail

It was ridiculously hot and humid so after walking and letting Connor play on the playground we headed back home to the AC. But first we saw a group of mimes practicing. LOL
Connor really really loves his Aunt T.
He RAN to her when she got to our house.
Don't they look alike?

Connor is in this stage where he really copies everything and he especially copies Cecil.
Saturday evening we were hanging out watching TV and I put my leg in Cecil's lap
(sometimes he will rub my feet). Connor wasn't sure what was going on,
but he just rested his hand on my foot because that is what Cecil did.
Monkey see, monkey do.

Later that night Connor decided it would be fun to make himself dizzy by turning in circles
It was hilarious. Just like a drunk person.
Someday I'll figure out how to add videos.

Sunday we went to our favorite breakfast place and let
Connor taste chocolate milk for the first time.

I think he liked it!

Sunday afternoon we just got some stuff around the house done.
But first Connor found a little bottle of Tito's Vodka and I practically had to chase him around to get it back. #momoftheyear

Connor "helped" me hang up a gallery wall in his bathroom.

And a few pieces in the hallway.

We followed all that work up with a nice little (sweaty) afternoon nap on the
couch that produced a (snotty nosed) Mohawk.

Monday morning I took some more #sleepingbabypictures
It seems to be a theme that Connor has a tough time waking up on Mondays.
I get it.
His sweet little feet were peeking out through the crib rails.

After I got to work Thursday, I started looking through all my
Thank you cards from career day.
One class thought my name was MR. hahahaha

Monday night Cecil picked up BBQ and its one of Connors new favorites.
Well, the mac & cheese, beans, and fried okra are at least.
He's not too interested in the actual BBQ.

Tuesday Leslie and I went to have lunch with the boys on their second to last day of school.
Ampa picked them up Wednesday (their last day was a half day) and took them to his
house for the rest of the week because Leslie still had to work.

Sweet family.

We got a picture of Turner wearing her leg braces and it made my day!!
I've seen her in them since and its crazy how small they are and how much they help her stand.
But mostly I love her pigtails in this picture!!! :)
Happy happy girl!

We received a text on Wednesday 6/25 that our 95 year old grandmother had passed out and fallen.
She had broken her leg and was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Denton. Leslie and I went to see her that afternoon,
and she was confused and had a bruised lip from the ambulance ride.

My Aunt Jackie (the Angel that cares for Nana) sent us this picture the next day
showing her doing a little better.
It is such a hard time and I'm thankful for my sweet grandmother.
For all the special memories I have with her and for the long life that she has
been able to share with us. Since, she has been moved to a rehab facility where she is now,
but she just doesn't seem the same.
Its hard to write about and I don't intend to be casual about her health, but it was a big part
of our month and has weighed heavy on my heart these past few weeks.
I want these posts to be about our life and not just the lighthearted happy times.

I'm going to recap the remaining few days in a Memorial Day Weekend post.
