Memorial Day Weekend

Our little family of three had a fun Memorial Day Weekend.
We spend it just the way you should - with family, friends, and the first swim of the summer!!

Friday morning, Connor and I were home together.
Connor LOVES playing peek a boo with any empty box.

After getting lunch all over his clothes we checked the mail and sent Daddy a picture showing him that he had a package at home waiting for him.

Cecil came home early and we decided we should head to my parents to stay the night
because Cecil, my Dad and brother had a 7:30am tee time.

We stopped in downtown McKinney and ate at Spoons.

We brought a banana that Connor played with before "dropping" on the floor.

This was his face when I tried to get him to try something new. Stinker.

#teamhodges

We had fried okra, Cecil got a Rueben and I had the grown up Grilled Cheese.
We liked it and will go back, but I think I'd try something new.

Do you see that table of men behind Connor? He wanted to be their best friend
all night and they were totally clueless. Sorry buddy.

After dinner we stopped and got some pies from Emporium Pies.
We got a Smooth Operator (chocolate with a pretzel crust) and a
PB crunch one that was seasonal.
But it was THE BEST!

We headed to Target to get Connor a puddle jumper and a couple groceries for my parents.
This was Connor's first time to sit in this large buggie and he was so proud of himself.
He did completely fall out once while we were waiting for Cecil in Starbucks.
But the rest of the time he loved it and acted like he
was in a parade - waving at all the other Customers.

We got to my parents house around 10 and were pretty tired.
We chatted for a little bit and then went to bed.
Connor slept in the crib just fine and I was super proud of him.

The next morning, Cecil and Dad headed to the golf course while Connor and I slept in a little.
Noah came into our room and told me (with tears in his eyes) that he didn't know why the big boys went to play golf without him. So Mom took him up to the country club to join.

Zay was just fine when he finally woke up staying home and playing with their new kittens.
(That have already disappeared - my parents have the worst luck with pets.)

Connor played for awhile before it was time for his nap.
I think I actually fell asleep first while he was watching the iPad.
He NEVER sleeps while we are lying down also so when I woke up I had to get a picture.
Too bad I didn't get myself in it. LOL

That afternoon we played outside a little and Noah pretended to be a Ninja warrior on the swing set while Connor looked on.
Do you like Noah's outfit?? That is what he thinks matching is. hahaha

I decided I wanted to take Connor swimming around 5.
Cecil had jumped in after golf and he said it was too cold for him.
We realized he is still a little too small for his puddle jumper so I just held him most the time.
I'm not going to lie - it was a little cold and Connor might have shivered a couple times.

Noah got in with us and we had fun playing.
Connor was content as long as he had something in his hand to play with,
but I wouldn't say he loved it.
He mostly tolerated it. :)

Thinking 'give me that ball back!'

We headed home after swimming and Connor was pretty happy to go straight to bed.
Sunday morning, Nana came over to visit us and Connor was happy!
He ADORES his Nana.

We went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch and Connor remembered he liked their rolls.
#duh

Connor finally took a nap and we headed to our friends' house when he woke up.
Once we were there we all got in the pool and it was a little cold again.

Cecil took Connor down the slide and was careful to not get his head wet.
Again, he didn't love it, he didn't hate it. Just tolerated it.

After he was shivering I got out of the pool with him and we had a #parentsoftheyear moment.
Might show this to him when he is in college. ;)

He strutted around the pool with a diaper falling off for a good few minutes.
This he LOVED. He was super proud of himself.

Then the diaper fell all the way off and I love this baby booty shot.
Cecil wanted him to get dressed right away, though.

We put on a dry diaper and Connor strutted around.
I went inside to check on Miss Kaylee and she was awake so I brought her outside.
Connor was not happy to see me holding another baby. uh-oh.

But once she was in her bouncer he warmed up to her.
He even picked up her paci and put it back in her mouth. :) True love

Look at these buddies.
John was telling Connor to "BACK OFF" LOL

Cecil took Connor to the trampoline, but I don' think he was that excited about it.

What he was excited about - their dog, Jacques!!!!
He was OBSESSED.
Jacques was a champ too and put up with Connor's hits and hugs and chasing and holding.
I rewarded Jacques with a hamburger so I think it was fair in the end.

This was seriously the highlight of Connor's night.

Later, Cecil showed up like this.

And then this. :)

After bidding Jacque Adieu, we headed home around 11:30 and all went to bed.

We pretty much spent Memorial Day like this:

And then like this:

It was a nice relaxing day at home. And with that we wrapped up May!

Easter 2016

This year on Palm Sunday, Cecil's coworker invited us to her church that is just down the street. We decided to go and both my boys were looking extra extra cute in their pink and purple.
My mom bought Connor this cute outfit and I L-O-V-E it!

I love how Connor is reaching up for Cecil.

I don't even know what Connor thought was so funny. He is just in love with his Daddy.
I get it, Connor!

After church they had a little hot dog lunch and then EGG HUNTS!
There was a gentleman there making balloon animals and he made Connor a brown dog.
The little puppy didn't last long because Connor was chewing/pulling on him, but that boy sure loves balloons - in all forms.

While we waited for the Easter Egg hunt to be ready, Connor destroyed his dog and chewed on his basket (from Leslie's sweet BFF last year). I should have known he was getting another tooth!

Connor (barely able to walk at this point) was in the baby group.
I think it was for everyone under two.

He really surprised us by being able to walk on the wobbly ground and
totally got the concept of picking up the eggs and putting them in his basket!

The boy loves to point!

And then we were done and Connor just seemed a little bit older!
I can't believe my baby is a walking toddler!
It was such a fun day for our little family of three.

On Good Friday Connor, Cecil and I headed to my parents house.
I had a hair cut and then a funeral back home and we would be cutting it close on time.

We left the house early and went to Academy before my haircut. During my haircut Connor slept a little and then Cecil wore him into a store to kill some time.
I'm a little obsessed anytime Cecil wears Connor, but especially
this day when he was giving this look while holding his Buddy the Elf peg.

This sight seriously made me LOL
Think somebody is sleepy? Funny that his shirt says 'Happy Camper'

After Mom and I went to the funeral we came home and played/hung out/cooked
the rest of Good Friday.
I also stuffed all the Easter egg and in true 'Grams' form - there was no candy.
Puzzles, stickers, and coins.
So I stuffed those eggs good with lots of quarters.

Dad and Cecil were able to lower the crib in the guest room and it was a GAME CHANGER
Connor was beyond exhausted and falling asleep on us so we moved him to the crib and he cried a little, but since he couldn't fall out we were able to let him cry just a few minutes and then he slept through the entire night like a little angel!
It was amazing!
Now I feel like Connor and I can go visit them overnight this summer.

Saturday morning we played outside, cleaned up, and Dad and I "hid" Easter eggs.
Connor absolutely loved going down the slide again and again with his cousins.

My cousin and her three kids arrived and the party got started!!

Can we take a moment to marvel at Addy's hair?
I'm 100% jealous.

Unfortunately, Connor refused to sit in the high chair and my poor dad
took him outside during lunch so that I could eat in peace.
God bless him.

After a delicious lunch we had an Easter Egg hunt.
This was our sweet crew.
Eight boys. Two girls.

First up the babies (two and under) hunted on this little ledge

Then the little boys got a 30 second head start on the rest of the yard.
It was hilarious because the kids were picking up eggs, shaking them for money,
and dropping the ones that were stickers.

Our littlest guest was sweet baby Evan. Noah was right at home holding him.
After a few people left, my Mom was able to give Connor a bottle and he passed out!

We were also celebrating ZAY DAY!
Zay came to Leslie's on March 26, 2014.
I know it was a hard time and am never sure how much to talk about it around him.
We mentioned it a few times and Cecil and I gave him these
shoes we picked up at Academy the day before.
They were "Austin" brand and the style was "Connor" which I thought was super cute.
And they were $10.
I'm hoping we can celebrate more soon when he is officially adopted (soon!), but two years is a serious milestone and I wanted to mention it.
I'm sad I didn't get any special pictures.

Cecil read Addy a book while she ate a snack. She was INTO it! :)

We gave our best shot at a cousin pic!
All boys are wearing blue polos which was cute.

Addy looks perfect, Zay is plugging his ears because the twins are yelling,
Connor looks confused and Turner looks like she over it!
But all seven have open eyes - and pretty much looking - so its a win!
Standards have changed.

One more of these two squeezed in a chair.
I love how she is holding onto Connor. He was feeding her earlier in the day.
I just can't wait to watch their relationship develop and know they will be the best of friends!

We had the best time at my parents house and came home late Saturday evening.

Easter morning, Leslie was a good Mom and took her boys to church
Looking EXTRA adorable I might add.

Sunday we slept in and then met Leslie and the boys for lunch at Texas Roadhouse.
I thought the wait might be crazy, but it really wasn't. I was able to call ahead and put us on the list and we got right in.
We got a quick Easter cousin pic.

The Hodges came home and Connor played a little while before his nap.
He loves looking out the windows and being chased right now.

The Easter Bunny magically came during his nap time. ;)
The Easter Bunny might have to be more on it next year!!

Connor hunted eggs (for the third time) and then we gave him his Easter basket.

It was a really fun holiday and Connor walking and
being able to participate made it extra special.
I really think Easter is one of my very favorite times of the year. :)
