Friday Favorites - May 20th

JoJo
The Bachelorette premieres on Monday and I'm PUMPED.
I posted an Ode to JoJo Wednesday  where I listed 15 reasons we love her.
I think you need to take a peek.

Girls Trips
I recently took two girls trips.
One to Magnolia and one to Mexico

I loved them both and plan on recapping them next week.
I really needed my girl time to recharge. It feeds my soul.

Free Weekend
We don't have any plans this weekend and I think it will be great.
I mean we have to get the car inspected and give Connor a haircut.
But NOTHING ELSE.
Hallelujah

Meme of the Week
This made me laugh. because it is true.

Friday Favorites - May 6th

This week was a L-O-N-G one for me.
I know I really cannot complain because my work week is 4 days.
But it just seemed like it dragged on. and on.

I've been really looking forward to today because I'm meeting my best friend in Waco.
She lives in Austin and I'm in Fort Worth. We're going to meet up in Waco and have a girls day.
First up on our list? Magnolia Market!

I've read a few blogs, done some research and I'm ready to get my shop on!
I'll be sure to let you know what I thought of the trip.

Rompers are my new FAVORITE thing for Connor to wear.
I would be OK if he only wore one pieces, all day, every day.

We are going camping this weekend.
We haven't been in F-O-R-E-V-E-R
I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about Connor's sleep, but we're only going to
be about 30 minutes from home so we have an exit strategy.

I'm looking forward to S'mores. Because those are and always will be
my FAVORITE thing about camping.
Followed by watching the campfire.
Wish us luck!!

Next Wednesday five of my best friends and I are leaving our husbands/kids/jobs behind
and heading to Cancun, Mexico.

Girl time is my FAVORITE and I just cannot wait.
I'm looking forward to the pool bar the most. ;)

We have a busy weekend planned and again I'm not complaining, but I will be missing out
on my regularly scheduled FAVORITE weekend activity: naps!
I should be OK.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend give and receive lots of love on Mother's Day!

Friday Favorites - April 15th

I've been absent from my little old blog this week. Connor has been sick with a virus and Cecil and I have both been trying to juggle being home with him and being busy at work.

I do plan on blogging about Easter soonish (like my 5th time to promise), but for now I'm just going to do a quick Friday Favorites and get to Easter when I have more time.

After this long week of Connor being sick and our little family could use a little break.
Connor has just been fussy and really not sleeping well. He's running a fever, but doesn't really have any other symptoms. I'm thanking my lucky stars that I got a full work day in Thursday and didn't get a call to come pick him up.

Cecil and I don't have a single thing hung up in our bedroom.
I saw this print and thought it might be cute to hang something like this over our bed.
It would be lonely and need something else around it, but I might start with this.
What do you think?

I saw this link and laughed out loud!
It's worth reading for a good laugh.

I saw this on Facebook this week and really really really
hope my sister does this for her 30th birthday. I mean!!
Hilarious

The cake smashing
The tutu
The chalkboard sign
The garland in the back
The crown
Its all too good.

My "baby" cousin is getting married this weekend and since we already gave her the 'big' present at her shower I wanted to find something sweet and simple to gift to the couple at the ceremony.

At just $3.99 plus $9 for a monogram, I grabbed a couple of their engagement pictures off FB and had a thoughtful, sweet, personalized gift for under $15.

The ornament is really great quality and I am really happy with how it turned out.
They are big - like the size of your palm, not a necklace.
Don't you worry -
I also got one with Connor's monogram
and Turner's

But I think it's a sweet gift for anyone and if you didn't need a monogram, you cannot beat a personalized ornament for under $5 - stocking stuffer ALERT (in April). :)

Noah and Zay came over to our house Friday and we had Friday Family Fun Night
We ate pizza, watched American Ninja Warrior, and Zay was fixated on talking about and shopping for walkie talkies.

Without telling Zay, Cecil started charging his and they were
ready right before it was time for the boys to leave.
Zay was BEYOND excited!!
He thought Cecil had just ordered them and said, 'What took you so quick??'

Here are my two techies searching and searching for the perfect walkie talkies on Amazon.

I didn't even know it was possible....but I realized that I was in a baby clothes shopping rut.
Ya'll - I basically only shopped at Old Navy and Gap online. Sometimes Belk.

One day I went to a local resale shop during lunch to look for a specific toy Connor liked at school and I THINK IT CHANGED MY WORLD.

I found the cutest things for the best prices!
Connor has looked extra cute ever since.
I definitely have a love for the romper - Cecil does not.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

I even scored some brand new $80 cowboy boots that light up
for only $5.50.
Connor's are tan and brown and he is not entirely a fan yet,
They are a little big but I think he'll love them soon.

I've started ordering my "Mother's Day cards" aka Personalized chatbooks for all the Moms in our family. I started with Cecil's Mom today. I have a few more to create and order.

Have a great weekend, ya'll!!!

Friday Favorites - March 25th

My FAVORITE guys

We went to a new church on Sunday -- Palm Sunday. We visited a church right down the street that Cecil's coworker invited us to. I think we both like the church, but I was disappointed they didn't do the traditional (is this only Methodist??) palm branches.

I mean? Aren't they both so handsome? My boys in pink and purple.

 Connor's first egg hunt

After church they had an Easter egg hung
He actually walked and carried his own basket and totally understood the concept.
Cecil was one proud Daddy!

 Home for Easter
The only thing we have scheduled on Saturday is Easter with my family.
We get to go to my parents house - one of my favorite places in the word.
Home, actually.
We will do another egg hunt and I'll get to spend time with my favorite people in the world.

I mean, look at this baby face. He looks like a big kid!

Aggies greatest comeback of all time.

The aggies played on Sunday and it was THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME.
No, seriously. Not a hyperbole.
With less than 40 seconds remaining, Texas A&M overcame a 12 point deficit to force overtime. The Aggies ended up winning in the second overtime and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.

I was watching it at home with Cecil and he went to bed before the end. I was sweating it was so good. It was truly MADNESS. Everything happened in our favor and somehow, miraculously the Aggies won the game.

The tough win just makes my Alma Mater getting into the Sweet 16 that much sweeter.

St Patty's Day Parade

I had the best time with my sweet friends. It is always a huge mess and this year was no different.
I haven't laughed that hard in months and fun memories were made.
My sister and her friend actually came with my group of friends this year. They left early, but then we randomly ran into my brother and SIL at a bar later.
