Bachelor
Ben: In Indiana
Ben
and his SIX GIRLFRIENDS head to Ben’s hometown of Warsaw Indiana. It looks like
a charming town and he drives down Main street saying Hello to the people he
sees walking by. Its like they announced: Bring out all the classic cars – The
bachelor is filming
Ben
meets his parents at a diner to give them an update on the remaining
girlfriends: JoJo, Emily, Becca, Lauren, Caila and Amanda.
I love the sign that the diner has - its cute and very classic small town.
Meanwhile
the girls are throwing leaves at each other and walking on a dock – are they going
to throw each other in the water?? No – it would have been more fun if they
did!
Ben
comes over and tells the girls that he is taking Lauren on a one on one date
and she has 30 minutes to get ready. Where is Chris Harrison? He doesn’t do
much ‘hosting’ these days. Maybe his title should be changed to ‘Rose Ceremony Officiate’

FIRST DATE: Lauren
Lauren
and Ben get in the classic truck and drive by his high school, his old church,
the movie theater where she had her first date, and a Youth Club that he worked
at for four years. Ben is EXCITED to be back!
Ronnie,
the cutest special volunteer, sinks a half-court shot like it is NO BIG DEAL. I’m wondering if we can get Ronnie to compete in a half-court completion during one of the Pacers games! Harrison – can you work on that? You seem to have some free time on your hands.
Ben introduces two NBA
players and they all hang out with the kids. Ben
and Lauren look like they are having a great time and Lauren told us that her
cheeks hurt from smiling all day. It’s a sweet date and Ben and Lauren look
cute together.
After
the Youth Club, Ben and Lauren have a conversation about last week and Leah’s
shadiness. Ben tells Lauren that he trusts her. He is really liking this girl! Lauren
tells us that she is not in love with Ben the Bachelor. She is in love with Ben
from Warsaw Indiana. It’s a sweet very personal date for Ben.

SECOND DATE: Let's find love in the windy city - JoJo
Ben and JoJo go to Chicago when she gets out of the car she is so excited to see Ben she jumps him.
Schaefer calls this the full mount and predicts we will see more next week at hometowns -
I can't wait.
They are walking down the street when they happen upon Wrigley Field and it’s
as if the field is speaking, telling them to come inside. Am I the only one that
found that a little creepy?
JoJo
and Ben play baseball at Wrigley field. She is a fun girl and I can see why Ben
likes her. They wear the cutest Mr. and Mrs. jerseys and you know Ben was thrilled. He is clearly a HUGE Cubs fan! They run the bases, lay in the outfield while they are shown on the big screen.
When it’s time for the dinner portion of the date. They are STILL at Wrigley Field. JoJo tells Ben that in her past she gave ‘that person’ 150% of herself because she cared more. Still using those gender neutral descriptions, I see. She says that she is scared, but trying to be open and is ‘Team Ben.’

GROUP DATE: Amanda, Becca, Caila
The
group date is on a farm and they first come up to a pond. Ben pushes Amanda,
Becca, and her spray tan into the pond. Caila and Ben get in the other boat
together. Everyone is over the group dates and they are more awkward now. They fly
kites and then sit in a barn. I’m thinking this date can’t get much worse. Then
Ben lets the three girls know that he is giving a rose out and that girl will get to
continue on the date with Ben as a one on one.
Ben
and Amanda talk about hometown dates next week. She is excited to
see her daughters. I’m sure she is!! She has never introduced a man to her
daughters before so it’s a big deal for them to meet Ben next week.
Becca
tells Ben she is struggling. She isn’t feeling like she is getting any validation from him.
He doesn’t do much to validate her. Womp womp.
Caila
explains that she moved a lot growing up and doesn’t feel like she has roots
anywhere. She feels insecure about this and starts to wonder if it will be a
turn off for Ben. I’m really not thinking it bothers Ben (or any guy) at all.
Ben
decides to give the group date rose to Amanda. He then says good-bye to the
other two girls in the most awkward way possible. He doesn’t even give the girls a hug or anything he just walks out the
barn door with Amanda. They are both visibly upset and Becca is crying.
Ohh
Emm Gee they are going to McDonalds because it’s a ‘normal’ thing for Ben. I am
not a fan for commercials during the show. Can’t we just have those separate so
that I can fast forward through them? Ben asks the lady at the cash register if
they can come behind the counter. What? They take orders at the drive through
and I keep wondering if this is a health code violation. Amanda is not wearing
a hair net!
Next they sit down over a couple items from McDonalds all-day
breakfast menu. (BTW – don’t try to order a McGriddle in the afternoon. It is
not on the all-day menu L).
Ben makes Amanda do the Lady and the Tramp with a French
fry.
Becca – don’t be upset! At least you didn’t have to work at McDonalds!!
Please note the rose on the McDonalds tray. Hilarious.
Next,
Ben takes Amanda outside and ohmygosh it’s a carnival! Ben says that he is
scared of the fair rides and genuinely freaks out during them. They ride on a
ferris wheel and make out while everyone on the ground just stares up at them.

Back
at the house, Amanda tells Lauren about their date. Lauren is smug AF when she
says they worked the drive thru at McDonalds.

FOURTH DATE: Home is where the Heart is -Emily
Ben takes Emily on the last one on one and tells us he is not sure if she is ready.
I can tell you – she is not.
She shares a car,
house, job with her twin sister.
Ben
takes her to his house and they visit the bedroom he grew up in. Interestingly, they
now have both been in each other’s childhood bedrooms.
I’m still shocked the
twin is meeting his parents.
How cute is Ben in his glory days?
Emily
says, and I quote: Talking to people can be kind of a hard thing for me.
Ben’s
dad thinks she is very attractive. Ben’s mom is trying to keep a straight face
while talking to her. Emily says the following while talking to Ben’s
parents:
*She wants to be an NFL cheerleader.
*She is ready to have kids young.
*She likes watching movies
*She does not like eating vegetables.
Oh
no! How old is this girl?? She is coming off very young and immature.
Ben talks to his Mom and she is visibly upset. I can
only imagine how terrified she is to meet the rest of his choices. I don’t
think she can believe this is the girl he chose to bring home to meet them.
Emily
feels like the date went great and says that this is just the beginning. Oh no!
Again this is so painful. Emily is so super excited! Ben is ready to break up
with her. I’m not sure why he takes her to a bench in front of the house all
the girls are staying in. He is literally breaking up with her in front of the
other girls. He tears up and says that he just doesn’t see her being his wife.
The
other girls are drinking wine and are unable to look away.
All the girls
comfort Emily and most of them cry with her.
It is a sweet girl moment.
Emily
is so well spoken as she drives away. She feels that she is blessed that she got to meet someone
so amazing and just hurt because she feels rejected. She says whoever ends up
with Ben is lucky. She didn’t make a great first impression on his parents, but
I think she made a great last impression on the rest of us. See you in paradise
Em!
It’s
time for the rose ceremony. Chris Harrison finally shows up and meets Ben on
some steps to chat. Ben says he thought it would be more clear, but then
quickly decides that he knows what he needs to do. Meanwhile, the girls are freezing
while they wait.
Becca and Caila are worried.
ROSE CEREMONY:
Already has a rose: Amanda
Received roses: Lauren, JoJo, Caila
Going home: Becca
Becca
asks Ben: Why did you do that??
While Ben walks the girls are all standing in the freezing huddled together for warmth.
When Becca gets in the car Lauren turns her head as if its too difficult to watch which made me laugh out loud for some reason.
In the limo, Becca
cries and tells us that she wants someone to love her back. She says that she doesn't want to be alone. Hey! I hear the farmer is single.
See you next week for HOMETOWNS!
