Zay is Seven!

Zay's Birthday falls on December 27th

This year Leslie decided to have a birthday party for him at ITZ (a local place that has a buffet, arcade, bowling, laser tag, rock climbing wall). It is basically Zay's favorite place in the word. They set the party for Monday December 28th. I was able to run over during my lunch break. 

 

Leslie made his birthday cake herself and took this adorable picture before the party. Do you think he was excited about his day?? ;)

 

You can see the cake a little better in this one and also please note that my sister's house was decorated for VALENTINES DAY on DECEMBER 28th!

 

This is was our group in the party room. Zay picked the colors Red, Green and white. :)

 

On the way to Itz Zay had the foil-covered cake in his lap and he was 'drumming' on it - not realizing what he was creating underneath the foil. So funny to me!

 

Noah wore his mac & cheese shirt from Santa while he loaded up a plate full of mac & cheese.

They handled the entire party and Zay was super duper excited. He got to get in a ticket tornado machine and grab as many as he could at once. Then he stood up on the bench while everyone sang Happy Birthday to him. I could just tell he was beaming inside but trying not to smile ear to ear. Sweet boy!

 

These are all the kiddos that showed up. I didn't get Connor out of school because I was just on my lunch break, but now I wish I would have. :)

 

 

 

 Next, Zay blew out his candles, we had cake, and Zay opened his presents.

 

We had given Zay a metal detector the previous day on his birthday. Our cousin brought Zay a rake because he LOOOVED raking at her house on Christmas. Hilarious. :)

 

I think he had the best day ever! He got to play for hours and then go back later that evening and play some more.

 

Zay has grown so much this past year. He graduated from Kindergarten at the church school. He started kindergarten at public school and is a LEADER in his classroom.

*He is all boy

*He has zero interest in girls and is OBLIVIOUS when girls try to flirt with him

*He is so sweet with Connor. He loves to carry him around and is THE BEST at comforting him when he is upset.

*He has THE BEST imagination and can always come up with something to play

*He LOVES to play outside

*He loves most foods and is a great eater

*He LOVES LOVES fruit

*Connor loves watching Zay. He makes Connor laugh more than anyone else. He just has to look at him and Connor is laughing.

*He is exceling in school

*He started reading chapter books recently

 *He tries so hard at everything he does

*He is not scared of anything

*He is slow to get ready in the mornings

*His love language is gifts - I think

*He loves to play games - especially Sorry at our house

*He is so silly and animated

*He is busy busy busy

*He really improved at skiing this year

*He doesn't love getting his hair cut

*He loves playing backgammon with Ampa

*He is the silliest boy I know

*When he is upset, he just shuts down and doesn't talk/answer/respond

*He is a very forgiving brother and always defends Noah

*He loves 'his Mommy', 'his Ampa', and 'his Grams' always using the possessive terms

*He loves to build things and learn anything new

*He fell in the swimming pool at Christmas....and no one was surprised

*He really loves his special watch he got for Christmas

*He is just the sweetest boy and we are so thankful he is ours.
