Bachelor Ben: In Mexico!

There are 11 girls left and things are going to get more real. After having dates in Las Angeles and Las Vegas it is time to leave the US! Ben and the girls head down to Mexico City.

 

My initial thought is that they saved Mexico for Bachelor in Paradise, but I guess I am wrong. They show us some images of the city and it looks beautiful......and crowded. There are people everywhere!

 

FIRST DATE: LETS PUT ALL OUR EGGS IN ONE BASKET

Amanda

 Ben wakes the ladies up at 4:30 looking for Amanda and she has 15 minutes to get ready. I’m thinking this girl slept in her makeup because she has seen this show before. And she is smart because the girl looked flawless.The other girls….not so much.

The Teacher was wearing a retainer and Ben told her that he slept in one too!! Can we please see this before the end of the season? Harrison? Where are you Harrison?

Ben also asked whose weave was sitting on the nightstand and no one would claim hit. Hilarious.

 

Ben and Amanda have a sweet date of riding in a hot air balloon, drinking wine in a field, and having dinner on rooftop.  #standard

 

Man! This off the shoulder shirt with puffy sleeves is POPULAR this season.

Amanda this week

 

Amanda’s story of her no-good cheating ex-husband makes her seem really relatable and likeable. I think Ben would like to be the hero. I think he wants to save someone. He would love to save Amanda (and I think that is part of Jubilee's appeal) from pain. It’s sweet.

I noted: 

1)Ben’s favorite word is incredible.

2)Amanda’s favorite word is like.

 

 

DATE TWO: COMO SE DICE THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART

Jubilee, Becca, JoJo, Caila, Emily, Lauren B, Jennifer, Leah, Olivia

This means that Lauren H gets the final one-on-one. Olivia just knew that it was her.

Olivia forces her best smile. And it's scary.

I don't need a secret language to see this means I hate you B.

 

 

  Flight attendant  is wearing the popular off the shoulder shirt with puffy sleeves and Becca is wearing a really odd hair style. One of the girls in the house must have convinced her that it was 'so cute' It's not.

 

They have to go to Spanish class! ugh. I had three years of Spanish in high school and I hated it.  Most of the girls have a good sense of humor about it, but not Jubilee. She just hates the whole thing. She hates group dates. She signed up for the wrong show! She does love biting her lips.

 

All the girls go to the front of the class and say sweet things with Ben in Spanish and

HERE IS THE THING:

Jubilee only heard what he said to the other girls, but Olivia ONLY heard what he said to her.

 

Most of the girls are aware of the situation here on The Bachelor – they are one of many that he has a connection with.

Jubilee – she picked the wrong show because she cannot handle seeing him with anyone else. I don’t blame her because it’s natural, but this isn’t the place for her. She is letting his connection with anyone else ruin any chance she had with Ben.

Olivia on the other hand is oblivious that she just saw him say the EXACT same thing (in Spanish)to 8 other girls and she BELIEVES he ONLY means it when he said the same words to her one minute later.

huh?

 

Next, they have to split up into groups of two and make a Mexican dish. They must use their Spanish while shopping for the ingredients. Olivia immediately claims Ben as her teammate. She uses her mini one-on-one to…….feed him crickets. But she tries to feed her crickets AND be sexy.

Fail.

I’m thinking I bet those crickets don’t help her bad breath and then Ben guides her over to the amazing herb wall and insists they share some mint leaves. Hilarious.

 

The chefs test all the dishes and Olivia lets us know she snuck in some crickets on their duck sandwich. Why? This one is crazy but we already knew that.

Jubilee and the Flight Attendant win the cooking challenge.

 

I noted:

1) Ben is too tall for a Mexican kitchen

2)Ben calls himself the Spachelor....we're going to let that slide

3)The chefs say if you know how to cook - you are ready to get married. ooops

 

 

 They have their group date setting and Ben doesn’t even get to finish his sentence before Olivia interrupts him and asks if she can have some time alone. How does he not think that is rude?

Ben and the Flight Attendant walk around the city and make out all over the place. This girl is in the Top Three. 

Ben asks to speak to Jubilee and you can tell she is miserable. The thing is -I like Jubilee. They head to a bench and she sits on her knees in a cocktail dress. This girl is unique.

Oh no. It almost sounds like he is breaking up with her right here. Oh man! He is! This is painful!  I think it was respectful that he did it alone. She seems pretty fragile. I really hope she doesn’t go on to Bachelor in Paradise. Again, this is the wrong place for her.

 

 JoJo takes him aside and confirms that he is handling things with grace. Smooth move JoJo

  I noted:

Ben always leans to the LEFT to kiss. If anyone else kisses him they tilt to the right, but if Ben initiates it -LEFT. Sounds weird, but watch!

 

DATE THREE: Let's design a life together

Lauren H

Ben says:

Most people don’t know that people know Mexico City for their fashion.

Huh?

 

They go to a fashion store, then a runway show, then they are part of the runway and apparently Ben didn’t even know they were going to be models. I like how Lauren makes friends with the models. This girl is a girl’s girl and that is the kind of girl we like.

 

Ben looks goooood. With his serious squint and then the cutest wink. I mean he became a model! Give him a contract! Sign him up!

It's a sweet date and I like Lauren the teacher.

I think she has a great sense of humor, but I don’t see it going anywhere.

This kindergarten teacher has friend zone written all over her.

 

COCKTAIL PARTY TIME

 

 JoJo and Ben are talking and she is scared! She LIKES him very much. And LOVES spending time with him. Is this our first LOVE this season????!?!

Ben promises her she won’t be blindsided. Big promise. I think that meant a lot to her and I would feel much better after hearing that.

Sidenote: After their one on one date when JoJo discussed her ex and refused to use masculine pronouns I have decided she is bisexual.

This episode, I think she was the first to use the L WORD. How appropriate.

 

 Some girls are asking Amanda about her kids in a kind genuine way. Olivia says she feels like she is watching a Teen Mom episode. Yes that is offensive. Yes I think Olivia was not intending to be mean she is just clueless.Yes I think this is the beginning of the end for Olivia.

 

 Twin tells Ben ‘when I try to talk it sounds good in my head but it doesn’t come out right.’

Talking is hard

Ben is super sweet and confirms he wants to know what is bothering her.

 

Olivia knows the twin is talking about her to Ben so she heads over so she can end the conversation. Ben is physically backing away from Olivia as far as he can. She gives him a ring.  Wait what? Is she trying to be the bachelorette already? Ben does the deciding here.

 

She gives him a ring. He gives her an awkward hug.

What is your secret love language saying now Olivia??

 

The twin loses.it. 

Wait! I’m confused. What specifically did Olivia do to the twin? 

She calls her sister and screams. “I’m Sad!!”

Oh! She is getting better at talking.

 

Chris Harrison comes in and says it is time for the rose ceremony. Where has he been? Did he just fly into Mexico City for the Rose Ceremony? Is he slowly going to just be doing the after shows?

 

Ben asks if he can talk to Olivia and all the girls just KNOW she is being sent home. 

TO BE CONTINUED? WHAT!!!!!!

 

It is time to start picking the bachelorette: hmmmm

I did chose Ben as the next Bachelor way early last season. Not to brag.

Becca? Would people be mad if she got a third chance? I think so.

JoJo? What if they did the Bachelorette with men and women? Too progressive. Yes. No chance.

Caila – I think she is in the top three and the most likeable of the entire group. It would add diversity to the franchise. Today she is my guess.

Flight attendant – top three. But I don’t see her being The Bachelorette. I see her possibly winning.
Teacher - I think she would be fun but I'm not sure she has enough appeal.

Amanda? No. America couldn’t like handle her voice.

Jennifer? Who

Leah? Who?

Twin? No she will be leaving soon. She will be in Paradise along with her sister.

Olivia? I think she will be in Paradise.
