April started out on a Friday (hallelujah!).
Connor and I were home together and he had fun figuring out this little tape measure.
He loved to pull it and then press the button to have it retract.
Have I mentioned I just love this age??
He is becoming more independent and I'm having so much fun watching him explore new things.
For lunch I had pimento cheese and Connor had practically an entire bowl of Mac & Cheese.
He usually is not much of an eater so this was a feast.
Boy does love his carbs!
After naptime we went swinging and played outside.
It was a little chilly but really nice weather
He carries this little bear around all the time and holds him up to his cheek for hugs often.
I was trying to get a picture of him and the bear together since his little red jacket had bear ears.
The best I got:
Happy Boy loves eating his crackers outside.
He was really working on going down the slide and I was working on
learning a new photo app on my phone. ;)
Win.Win.
Win.Win.
Daddy came home and we went to grab Mexican food for dinner.
Connor colored for the first time. He wanted to eat them, but he definitely made some scribbles.
Nana came over to watch Connor while Cecil did some work around the house.
Saturday evening we went to our friends house for a crab/shrimp boil.
It was good!
Their kids were gone, but Connor had fun playing with all of their toys. :)
He especially loved their wagon - we really need to get one.
He got to hang out with his little girlfriend Kaylee again.
This is totally Connor right now.
Blanket in mouth.
And I'm sure he is pointing with his hand.
He also got in their little mustang for a quick picture.
It was such a fun night and I really L-O-V-E those
special nights on the patio with our best friends.
Sunday we stayed home and got some things done around the house.
I was putting Connor down for a nap and just had to get a picture of his sweet face.
Monday Cecil cooked a delicious pork Hello Fresh meal.
Tuesday Connor was U.P.S.E.T. when we got home.
I was trying to figure out what he wanted and I took this picture to show
Cecil his baby double fisting the drinks.
Sometimes I think he doesn't even know what he wants.
Wednesday Cecil made another yummy Hello Fresh meal.
Thursday the three of us headed outside to attempt to give Connor an
"at home haircut."
I think I did pretty well on the left side, but then got in a hurry and kind of
butchered the right side. I'm going to let Cecil do it next time while I entertain Connor.
And Done.
This is the result. Poor buddy. Mama tried.
After the haircut, Cecil and I had our THIRD homemade meal of the week.
Friday Connor and I were home together. He actually had his first experience with Time Out.
He hit me in the face and I said, "no, hit!" and then he did it again, so I decided it was time!!
He tried to get up but I sternly told him "no" and he sat down and bawled.
It was super sad/pathetic/funny, but he totally got it and is officially ready for time-out.
After naptime, I took Connor up to my office for a baby shower and lets be honest to show him off a little. He was very well behaved. Timidly obsessed with the balloons, shy at first, but then warmed up to everyone.
Leslie had plans on Friday so it was our turn to host FRIDAY FAMILY FUN NIGHT
In March we had gone on a Home Good run with the boys and Zay had found some Spiderman walkie talkies that he carried around the store. Even though I bought Noah his wish (the gaudiest elephant ever because I like to annoy my sister) I didn't buy Zay anything....and you know what?
He didn't bat an eye or complain.
I had told the Easter bunny about the walkie talkies thinking they were perfect for his basket, but she must have forgotten. The Easter Bunny is a girl, right?
Well fast forward to this Friday night Connor and I went to pick up the boys from school after we left my office and I needed to return a couple things to the Resale Shop (my new favorite store!!!) so I took them along.
Side note: Connor is officially only in 18 month clothing.
At the resale shop Zay was trying his darndest to find some walkie talkies in their toy section. No such luck. I told him that we could drive to Home Goods and check to see if the Spiderman ones were still there. They weren't. Strike two.
I told him that we could look online for the ones he likes best and maybe he could get some for his birthday. I let him search Amazon while we drove home. He specifically wanted some that had a charger and I secretly told Cecil when we first got home.
Without telling Zay, Cecil started charging his and they were
ready right before it was time for the boys to leave.
Zay was BEYOND excited!!
He thought Cecil had just ordered them because they were the same ones he picked out on Amazon and said, 'What took you so quick??'
It was a super fun night full of my favorite boys.
We ate pizza and watched American Ninja Warrior, which I guess will be our Wipe Out replacement.
Noah watching American Ninja Warrior,
Zay searching and searching for walkie talkies, and
Connor just happy to be hanging with the big boys.
Saturday morning Cecil was doing some work on the front door so Connor and I went to the front yard and joined him. We were sitting on a blanket talking to Daddy, and I had my good camera out trying to get some pictures when the neighbor's pit bull started coming into our yard staring at Connor.
Cue me and Cecil both freaking out.
We high-tailed it to the back-yard, but I have since made a visit and
some calls about their wandering pit bull.
This is a better view of his awesome (insert sarcasm) haircut.
The YouTube videos make it look so easy.
Cecil worked on the back door while Connor toted his monkey around and tried to keep me from taking any great pictures. ;)
Bye-Bye
We went to Which Wich for lunch and I remembered my love for that place.
Parmesan Chicken is my FAVORITE.
We went home and Connor napped and we watched some Naked and Afraid.
Saturday we went to the horseraces in Grand Prairie, but apparently I didn't take a single picture.
Sunday Connor went to time out for the second time and I remembered to get a picture of his pathetic cry face. So distraught.
We were going to meet Cecil's family on Sunday, but it just was not Connor's day.
He was fussy, clingy, fussy, fussy, and tired.
He took a 3.5 hour nap and I can't say I was completely surprised when I discovered he had a fever Monday morning.
The week before Connor's teacher had told me that his entire class
(3 other kids) had been sent home with fevers - all except for Connor.
Cecil and I were all high fiving ourselves at the end of the week thinking our child had a
super mighty immune system.
Welp.
Connor and I went to the dr and they checked him out, even had to do a catheter because they wanted to test his urine. They said he looked fine and to just to treat his fever.

Tuesday Cecil stayed home with him.
Wednesday he seemed better so I took him to school, but got a text at 10am that he had a fever.
I took him home and Cecil was able to finish his important meeting before
I headed back to work for my important meeting. The struggle is real.
Wednesday evening he seemed to be feeling better.
Good enough to learn how to clean the floors!!!
#putthemtowork
Thursday Connor spent the entire day at school #amen
We rushed home to change and head over to a fundraiser for my friend's cousin's scholarship fund.
But first - kangaroo love.
Sidenote: Connor seriously threw a fit one day because this monster
kangaroo wouldn't fit in his cozy truck with him.

We met friends for dinner and had a nice night.
We were also able to celebrate Chad's birthday with a sprinkle cake! yum!
These are my people.
Friday I worked half a day and then picked Connor up.
Unfortunately he fell asleep on the way home and I had a
heck of a time getting him to take a decent nap.
....but, look at those ankles crossed.
My Sweet Aunt Lesa came into town for our cousins wedding that was on Saturday.
Friday night, my parents, Leslie, the boys, Lesa and my family ate Boston Market at home.
This update officially takes us to April 15th - the middle of April so I'm going to come back later with an update on the rest of April - and all my birthday celebrations.
Somehow I was able to stretch it out over about two weeks this year.
#winwin

What a fun month! Wish I was there to have squeezed in a visit :). Connor is getting so so so big!!
