I started April in a previous post and want to wrap it up today!
A lot of the past month was spent celebrating my birthday, but lots of other good things too. :)
Saturday morning my Aunt Lesa and I slept in while Cecil got up with Connor.
Cecil was able to get some work done while Connor took a morning nap in his old bouncer that is in the gym/game room/office/storage room waiting to be taken to the attic.
PS - do not you love his outer space PJs? I do!
We met Cecil's mom, sister, and her boyfriend for lunch. They were watching him overnight for the first time. Well, they have watched him at our house over night when we went to Mexico, but he has never stayed the night at Aunt T's house. :)
I love that they sent us pictures. :)
Apparently he napped (in the PNP - score!!) and he got to play at the park!
THIS is my favorite photo they sent. What sweet cousins!
All the heart eyes
They were keeping Connor because we had a wedding to attend.
My cousin was getting married. I snapped a quick picture in the church before the ceremony.
Isn't this arrangement GORGEOUS?
Here is our official family picture at the church.
My family took a group picture outside the winery where the reception was held.
My brother, SIL, and baby niece missed the ceremony, but met us at the reception.
I will say this picture was the only time of the night I missed Connor. ;)
It was nice to have a break and I can't imagine he would have enjoyed the night.
(I think he had much more fun at the park with his Aunt T and Nana)
please excuse Zay's pout.
The reception was beautiful and Cecil and I took a couple strolls outside
together and it kind of felt like a date night.
Look at the pretty centerpieces! :)
and my animated sister.
The bride saying hi to sweet baby Turner :)
I was SAD because this was the first wedding that Noah and Zay were
too cool to dance. Leslie picked Noah up and carried him to the dance floor,
but he just came sprinting back (can you see him in the middle of the picture?).
Noah especially has gained a sense of
self-awareness recently and it just breaks my heart a little.
They had a fun photo booth and Noah and I went first.
I found him an elephant hat (because its his favorite animal),
but he opted for SWAG sunglasses and a gold chain. (growing up is hard for me!)
He did NOT want my kiss in the second frame. hahahaha
After dinner, Cecil and I did the photo booth together and I think he looks so cute.
Dad had the boys under control during the ceremony and some of the reception.
This picture is crazy blury, but they were super sweet together. :)
Towards the end Zay, Cecil and I walked outside in the vineyards for a little bit.
No idea why the picture was pink.
While at the wedding, Russell and Marie had such great news about Turner.
They found a new doctor and she took her first steps using this gait trainer.
This picture makes me emotional and has been on my locked screen since.
She is such a happy girl and I love seeing her reach milestones!!!!
I just love her so much! :)
Sunday Cecil went to pick up Connor and Austin came back with him.
My parents brought the boys over with some tacos for lunch.
The next week I got my birthday flowers from my husband a full week before my birthday.
pretty, huh?
Monday night neither Leslie or I felt like cooking and Cecil had to work late so we met up at Olive Garden. Before they got there I set Connor in the booth and he just looked so big! :)
When we got home Connor went for a piggy back ride before bed.
I love our rocking him at bedtime. :)
Thursday, I picked up all three boys and headed home for a pizza dinner.
Then, we went for a family walk down the street and somehow made our way to the snow cone stand.
It was the perfect evening with perfect spring weather.
The boys threw rocks in the creek, rolled down a hill and we spotted lots of animals.
(thankfully no wandering pit bulls).
Friday morning Connor and I were home together. He did some upside down reading.
I just love how serious he is while reading.
Then we met Leslie, Noah and Zay for sushi before they headed to Austin for the weekend.
Connor's going to have to learn to be loud if he wants to be heard in our family. ;)
After lunch, Connor and I headed to the doctor for his 15 month checkup.
Poor guy got 3 shots, but he is in about the 65% range for height and weight and 40% for head size.
I just put him in a onesie so we didn't have to change after his shots and
figured we were going straight home. Well I stopped in a new-to-me resale
store on the way home and he was the kid without pants on.
I considered getting this adorable piano for about 10 seconds but decided we did not need another THING in our house. I hope we can have a real one in our next home.
Connor was happy to play the entire time I checked out. It was adorable.
Cecil came home and we went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.
Connor was happy until, you know, he wasn't. We high-tailed it out of there.
Eating at restaurants with toddlers is not boring.
Saturday Connor's mom and sister took me to get a pedicure and
we all met Cecil and Connor for lunch on the patio at Pappasitos.
They made me feel super special and we could not have asked for better weather. :)
Nana also watched Connor so I could eat in peace #bestgift
Saturday evening we stayed in and watched TV with popcorn. Connor
fell asleep in Cecil's lap on the couch and I caught him smiling during his sleep.
Saturday evening Connor's eye started looking infected so his doctor's office
called in a prescription eyedrop for him. We laid low at the house the rest of the weekend.
Connor loves kicking/hitting Cecil and getting big animated reactions from him.
Monday was my birthday and I asked his teacher to take a couple pictures of us.
Connor was very much a Mama's boy this month. He wanted me to hold him all.the.time.
It really started hurting Cecil's feelings.
We went to dinner with my sister and nephews Monday evening.
After taking 27 photos, this was the best one we got.
Wednesday we met my brother and parents for dinner in Frisco to
celebrate my birthday and my parent's anniversary.
Thursday, Cecil and Connor read a little before bed.
I love these boys.
Friday Connor and I were home together.
Lately Connor LOVES playing outside and he will go to our (very dirty) backdoor and cry to get outside. Its precious and sweet, but we've had lost of rain and mud in April and doesn't always work out.
He just doesn't understand that yet - I'm sure it will be awhile before he does.
Connor played in his closet while I cleaned his room and organized his clothes and toys.
He's growing so fast it seems there is always something I need to clear out and pack away.
Connor loves to steal his Daddy's seat even when his Daddy is gone.
He thinks it is hilarious.
After Cecil got home we all headed to Which Wich and made it just
in time before another big storm went through.
One of my new favorite outfits. :)
While we were eating it was raining pretty hard. We were the only ones in the restaurant so we let Connor walk around a little. I just love this age. Full of wonder.
Saturday we were up bright and early ready to run a few errands.
The boys went on a stroll in the front yard while I loaded a few things in the truck.
We wanted to try a new restaurant but there was a long wait. Connor found some ants to entertain himself with. ;)
It was the perfect way to wrap up the month and finish celebrating my birthday.
We were also tired of April Showers and ready for that promise of May flowers!! :)
