Since I love newborn pictures so much and we were so happy with Connor's, Cecil and I decided to gift Russell and Marie with newborn pictures for Turner.
She had just gotten out of the hospital and since they had such unique circumstances I knew a lot of the 'fun' parts about having a newborn might get overlooked. While we were having Connor's photos taken in January I asked Jen about her experience with premies. She said that you can still get newborn pictures, but sometimes they don't curl up just like newborns (since they are actually older than a week when you are able to take their pictures). I wasn't sure what to expect but figured they would be special no matter what she captured.
Turner Grace was born in Peru and they were not allowed to take pictures of her in the NICU. The first picture we ever saw was for her passport. Someone from the US Embassy had to come to the hospital and take the photo when she was a few weeks old. I don't think I'll ever forget the first time I saw her. I was going through the drive through at Boston Market and checked my email. I remember crying and just saying 'I love her! I love her!' We had been praying so hard and wrecked with worry and just seeing my sweet niece for the first time felt like a miracle.
So having these beautiful images of Turner looking just like a healthy newborn are priceless to me. They turned out better than I imaged (and made me want to have a girl more than ever ;)) Just look at that ruffled booty.
I wanted one of Connor and Turner together and I will say that getting them both to sleep was next to impossible. Its like they took turns being awake/hungry and being asleep.
Connor wasn't going for the full swaddle so Jen wrapped him like this. His eyes are actually slightly opened here, but Jen worked some magic. I just love love love love this picture! I can't wait to watch them grow up together. I just hope they are best friends.
I think purple might be one of Turner's best colors. Look at that little grin!
While we were there, I thought this would be my favorite, but there are just so many good ones! I love her Flower Child headband here.
Sweet baby girl
This one is beautiful and now a HUGE one is hanging up in Jen's studio. Look how her little toes curl up. Connor's do the opposite.
This one is pretty funny. Hes like 'why am I in a basket?'
This one is cute, but not really what I was going for. haha
I was being a little stubborn and wasn't sure the other 'group' one was going to work so we stuck around for another hour or so and tried to get Connor to sleep again. And we did, but then we put him in a basket and he woke up and I think he was a little confused.
*Behind the scenes photos*
