Angel Fire - Summer 2015 I

We were lucky this year because the ENTIRE Luttrell crew was able to go to Angel Fire at the same time. Mom and Dad took Noah and Zay out a week earlier, and then Russell (and his family), Leslie, and I (with my family + Austin), all arrived on Thursday.
Dad, Mom, Noah, and Zay did a few fun things without us. They went on an unintentionally long (3 hours) hike, went rock climbing, played golf, and rode up the ski lift.
The long hike

I heard Noah rang the bell at the top of the mountain climbing

Zoomed in a little

Check out this view from the Golf Course!! I definitely want to play next year.

Uh Oh! Noah fell in a hole! jk

While these guys were having fun the rest of us were in the 'Real World' in Texas. My goal was to have us prepared enough to leave Wednesday night, stay the night in Amarillo and then get up early Thursday and drive the rest of the way. We were able to get away on Wednesday, but things didn't go quite as smooth as I had hoped.

This was my pile of things to be loaded as I went to bed Tuesday night: My bag, Connor's clothes/diaper (literally full of diapers), diaper bag, toy bag, pumping bag and overnight bag for Amarillo.

It was so fun to watch Connor and Austin together on this trip. We are so happy Austin came with us. He just made it so much more special/fun. He is a great kid and we are so proud of him. Connor really adores Austin. He just loved watching him and would smile anytime he was around.

Our living room is a disaster, but this is real life. It's definitely more difficult to pack for three than it is two.

We got on the road later than I'd like and then stopped for dinner at Whataburger in Decatur. Connor slept most of the way to Amarillo, and we arrived at the hotel around 2am. Unfortunately, Connor was all out of sorts in the hotel and was awake most of the night. He was refusing to nurse and Cecil, Connor, and I were all trying to fit in a full side bed.

We were slow to rise and get downstairs for breakfast. Slow to load up the truck and get on the road. We decided to stop off at Cadillac ranch on the way out of Amarillo.

We tried to get a spray paint can at a gas station, but they didn't have any. Luckily, we found a can that someone had left.

We got back on the road and headed into New Mexico. Having Austin in the truck really made the trip more enjoyable. Connor would look for Austin and Cecil in his mirror and smile at them.

I tried to sleep while Connor slept.

We were so so very excited to finally arrive in Angel Fire. Its just so beautiful there.

We were happy to get to the condo!!  Connor got lots of loving!

We didn't do much Thursday night. Russell, Marie, Turner, and Leslie arrived and we went to Angel Fired Pizza for dinner. It was delicious. we all went to bed early to get some rest.
