Angel Fire - Summer 2015 III

Saturday was our most scheduled day. Leslie started off the day by making us a DELICIOUS quiche. Most of the group went white water rafting. I think they had a great time - Leslie said it was her favorite part of the whole trip.

Silly boy, silly Mom

I think this is a great group picture. I'm pretty sure Mom purchased it.

The Luttrell Family

 The other Luttrell family

While they were gone, Dad and I held the fort down at the condo. We played, did some tummy time, ate, and napped. I think Turner loved looking at Connor's toys.

I just love seeing Dad with the babies. I knew he was THE best with potty trained and older kids, but I'm surprised at how sweet he is with the babies too.

Connor had a rough trip. He would not nurse at all, didn't eat much, and had a hard time sleeping. Even naps were hard. I would usually sit in the big recliner and sing to him to get him to sleep and then just snuggle that nugget. Once, Dad had to change Turner while Connor was sleeping. I think it had been a really long time, because I had to coach him through it. hahaha

Dad and I took turns showering and getting ready and then the Rafters all arrived and did the same. Dad was making Turner laugh out loud! I had not heard her laugh yet and it was just the sweetest thing. She has such a big beautiful smile. Our sweet miracle baby! I was sitting on that same couch when we got the call on December 24th that she had been born three months early in Peru. She is such a special girl that is loved by so many.

The whole gang (in three cars) headed up to Red River. It was a beautiful drive and my ears were popping! Next summer, I would like to take a day trip into Red River to visit the town.

Dad had purchased us all tickets to see Michael Martin Murphy. It was such a cool, intimate setting with a stage in front of a pond right in the middle of some mountains. There were baby ducks and fish jumping. It was going to go on after the sun went down so we all bundled up in warm clothes. We were not missing the 100+ degree weather in Texas.

Connor was able to wear his adorable sock monkey costume from Nana. I thought he was looking extra cute!

Seriously, this place was magical. I hadn't expected it to be so beautiful.

I tried to get a possible Christmas Card picture of the Hodges, but we might need to bring in a professional to accomplish that.

We all enjoyed a great BBQ dinner. Austin said it was the best BBQ he had ever had!! Zay had lots of fun with our new selfie stick.

Leslie said she had tons of pictures like this on her phone!

Russell was NOT a fan of the selfie stick. Its funny no matter how old we get, I really think siblings 'get' you better than anyone else. They also know how to annoy you the best too. haha

Russell and his sweet family staying warm.

Grams loving on our little sock monkey

This was my favorite picture from the whole trip.

Noah trying to stay warm. Sweater vests just aren't the coziest. haha

My boys. :)

Turner ended the night in the stroller

Zay was a little restless towards the end of the concert. Leslie turned this rope he had been carrying around (it was for the Pinata that he didn't want to break) into a homemade lasso. He was in heaven. He just played and played with it. It's hard to see in the dark photos, but he was having himself a great time.

Connor finally surrendered to sleep towards the end of the night.

Michael Martin Murphy ended with Happy Trails. It was just the best night.

Sunday morning the big boys had a tee time. I woke up to Austin, Marie, and Noah playing a math game. Marie made us French Toast for breakfast. The girls and kids hung out for a little while and then went to play tennis at the country club.

We all took turns playing and had such a fun time. It was a great setup and there was shade for the ones not playing (and babies) to sit in and watch. We went back to the condo and we made hotdogs on our hotdog maker (thanks Lauren!).
I wish I had taken more pictures on Sunday, but this is all I have.

Sunday evening Marie cooked us a delicious dinner. We had s'mores and then played Cranium. It was my favorite part of the whole trip. I just love games. Marie, Austin 'and Noah' won. Marie was undefeated this year!!

We spent the rest of the evening packing up and then Monday morning we loaded up and headed home. We drove straight through this time and stopped in Amarillo for lunch. I think we got home about 7:00. Connor did pretty well. He did have a blowout and we had lost our wipes so we quickly found a Dollar General in one town, but he slept a lot of the trip. When we got to Bowie (about an hour from home) he was DONE. Poor guy.

Tammi picked Austin up and I got 4 mosquito bites in the driveway talking to her and the following week we had a 108 degree day. Welcome to Texas in August! Actually, we were happy to be home and Connor nursed that night and hasn't had any trouble since. It must have just been a nursing strike. Who would have thought. We are so thankful for our fun family and Mom and Dad introducing us to and hosting us in Angel Fire. We look forward to lots of more memories there.
