This year we went to Angel Fire the week before Christmas. Unfortunately Russell and his family weren't able to come, but we were happy to have Tammi, Austin and Liam joined us.
We set our alarms super early and left at 5:30. Connor was actually in a really good mood. He didn't cry when I woke him up and changed his diaper. After we left the bright lights of the gas station I gave him his bottle and then had Cecil pull over and I got in the front before we even got on the highway. He drank a bottle and quickly went back to sleep.
We stopped at Wal-Mart in Amarillo and Connor turned himself around to face the direction the cart was being pushed. He kept pointing forward. I think he thought he was telling us where to go.
We got back on the road after lunch at Whataburger and Connor started being a little fussy. Poor guy was tired of being in the car. Once we passed the border into New Mexico, we stopped and got a new toy for him from a bag in the back and he entertained himself until he fell asleep again. He slept while we drove up the mountain.
When we got to the condo we unloaded and then Cecil immediately took Connor outside to check out the snow. He put his feet in it and Connor was NOT a fan. He brought him back inside and I changed his diaper and wet clothes. Cecil took him back outside to show him this snow man the kids built. They even made him hair out of sticks. It was a great snowman!
Saturday night Mom made chili and we all had Frito pies. yummmmm
Connor was eating Cecil's up!!
Leslie really wanted Cecil to open his Christmas present......Elf pajamas that match Noah, Zay, and Connor. I was so surprised when he actually came downstairs wearing them.
He let us get a picture and then he went back upstairs to change 5 minutes later. hahaha he told Leslie "I hope you enjoyed that."

Noah, Zay, Mom and I played bingo and Connor fell asleep. We tried to put him in his pack and play, but he slept there for less than an hour. Tammi, Austin, and Liam got to the condo around 11pm. Connor ended up sleeping with me most the night but he was waking up every couple hours and was ready to play. He was checking out the new room and was trying to touch the sunlight on the wall coming in through the window. It was a L.O.N.G. night for me.
Cecil was BEYOND excited to go snowboarding Sunday morning. He came home around noon to get some more water bottles and I grabbed a quick picture. He LOVES it.
Sunday night we played Cranium - Boys against girls. And the boys beat us bad. I slept in Mom's room with her and Connor was up about every hour. It was an even LONGER night for me. Mom got up with Connor around 6am and took him downstairs so that I could sleep a little.
Cecil and Tammi took Austin to get set up with his snowboard. Cecil wore Connor in the Ergo and Tammi took this sweet picture. I just Laaahhhhove it.
Monday morning I caught Noah singing and dancing with Connor. They are so cute together!
Connor and Liam played with toys inside the condo.
Connor took his morning nap on me while I rested in the chair.
Monday evening I told Tammi about how Dad had lost the key to the chest and the lock was stuck. She was determined to get it open. She said her and Cecil used to pick their Dad's locks as kids. hahahah
They worked on it until they got it open! Those Hodges are so handy!
Then Zay had to try it out! hahaha
Monday evening we played this Jelly Bean game. Everyone takes turns spinning. You land on a color and it is either a good flavor (peach, coconut, chocolate pudding) or a BAD flavor (Barf, baby wipes, canned dog food). It was pretty funny! It was crazy that you could actually smell their breath and it smelt just like the thing they ate. It was also interesting because some were worse than others to people. I didn't mind lawn clippings but Austin nearly gagged on it.
Liam wanted to play really bad so after a few minutes of begging Tammi let him have a black one (licorice or skunk spray). He said he liked it but his face did not agree. hahahha
Tammi smelt his breath and it was SKUNK SPRAY. Poor kid. He didn't ask for anymore jelly beans.
After our game Tammi and Leslie went out for a bit and we hung out and then played
Ampa and Zay had a heart to heart and hugged it out.
Then Dad rocked Connor to sleep and might have fallen asleep himself for a while.

Then Cecil came back downstairs after resting a bit and Cecil, Grams, Zay, Austin and I played Fibber. Cecil won one game and Zay won the second.
My favorite part of Angel Fire is the evenings we spend together playing games. :)
That snowman is so good. And the relationship between Noah and Connor- makes my heart melt, it is so sweet! I have been wanting to play that jelly bean game too- now only to convince my family :).
