Done - pumping edition

A little back story, we have been supplementing Connor with formula since he was a week old. He wasn't gaining weight as the doctor wanted so we gave him one bottle of formula a day for a few weeks.

I really appreciated being able to take formula with us and mix it up when he needed a bottle. I didn't have to worry about thawing the breast milk or it going bad if we left it out too long. Since I have been supplementing at convenience. Typically he was breastfed and would just have 2 -3 bottles of formula a week.

I exclusively sent breast milk with him to school through September 21 (8 months old), but then my supply just was down and his demand was up.

Connor turned 10 months on Saturday November 21st and I decided I was DONE pumping. I had only been getting about 2 ounces a day and he was drinking formula at daycare almost 100% so I decided it had been a good run, but it was time to allow myself to stop pumping.

I knew that would most likely mean my supply would plummet (and it has), but I was OK with that.
I'm content with how long we made it and proud of myself for pumping as long as I did.
I'm thankful my body has responded and allowed our breastfeeding journey to last this long and that sweet Connor has cooperated. I'm still nursing when he wants to which is about once a day at night - after he finishes his bottle, but I really think it's more bittersweet to me than him.
