Luttrell Thanksgiving 2015

We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family on Thursday this year. We switched it up and did the Fort Worth turkey trot, visited a homeless shelter, and then had a "small" meal at Leslie's.

Monday Mom and Dad picked up Nana from Jackie's house (they had Thanksgiving in Houston at James's house because Jenny had to have some testing at MD Anderson --- results came back good. THANK THE LORD - which we are most THANKFUL for).

Nana is not doing too great these days so it is best if she stays at one house during her visit as not to confuse her anymore. Leslie was hosting the Thanksgiving meal and has the most beds - so her house it was! Leslie bought Connor this hat and shoes and he actually left the hat on! I have no idea how she convinced him to do it, but I'm hoping she can get him to wear hats at Angel Fire in a few weeks.

One Tuesday we went to Zay's Kindergarten Thanksgiving program. Unfortunately, Nana wasn't feeling well that morning so Nana and Dad had to miss. Just Leslie, Mom, and I were able to go. He was so cute!! They sang the cutest songs and its sweet to remember how innocent they still are in Kindergarten. He's been through so much but he is still just a little boy.

Can you see him on the back row??

Their teachers give them each a name (Noah's was Darting Horse) and Zay's was (very appropriately) Brave Thunder! It was perfect!

Noah was ruining all the pictures by not smiling so we told him to get out of the picture. That made him really want in it! LOL Boys!

This one is my favorite. Love that Brave Thunder so very much!

I took Tuesday off work to get a few things done (dentist, pick up Turkey Trot packets with Mom, and spend time with Nana with Connor)

Wednesday night Leslie came over so we could collect all of the materials we needed for the Homeless Shelter on Thursday. She brought Connor this pilgrim hat. He was not amused.
(Side note: we put him in the Bumbo to eat only We don't restrict our 10 month old otherwise. lol)

Thursday morning we woke up early and got ready. I remembered to take Connor's 10 month photo in his chair with his Turkey costume on. It was the toughest one yet!

The lighting is bad, and I had to ask Cecil to leave the room because Connor was too distracted AND for the first time I had to give him a toy to hold.

We headed to the Turkey Trot and met up with Leslie, Mom, Noah, and Zay. Everyone thought that Connor was so cute and a few people asked if they could take his picture. He was basically a celebrity - but I understand why.

Then Russell, Marie, and Turner showed up with their dogs - Henry and Oscar. Turner was looking super cute in her boots.

There were lots of people there! We stayed in the back.

After mile one, we stopped to let Marie feed Turner a bottle. Connor drank a little bit of a bottle and then Cecil moved him to the Ergo and wore him - WHICH IS MY FAVORITE THING EVER.

I have the two cutest boys in the world.

Santa was right by where we stopped and the boys said hello.

Cecil took Connor to see Santa and he was SUPER curious - I LOVE IT!

Just because it made me laugh - please look at this zoomed in --- poor Turner

Daddies and babies

After our little break we were at the VERY BACK of the bunch. We took a teeny tiny shortcut and got back with the group. Zay loved walking Oscar and was so good with him. He really wants a dog - good luck with that Brave Thunder!

Cecil was getting LOTS of attention from all the ladies. They would run up to see Connor's sweet face and then oooh and awww over how cute he was. One guy told Cecil to 'Enjoy it. This is the life.' hahahahaha

Then Connor just passed out and I didn't think I could love anything more.
Baby daddy + baby wearing + turkey costume + sleep = my LOVE LANGUAGE

I was behind most of the time (shocker) and all I saw were Connor's cute little feet. I told Cecil I wanted a picture and look at Noah "tickling" them. Silly boy.
Noah was so sweet though and stayed in the back with me. He said it was because we were best friends. I love that boy!

We made it to the finish right before it started to rain. Russell and his crew headed to Marie's parents house for the rest of the day. While walking to the car we got a couple pictures of the boys by the big turkey.

Connor started waking up while we were walking to the car. Perfect timing!!

Cecil spotted Mom's (Bun's) new car! hilarious.

After we got all loaded in the car we followed Leslie to the Shelter. There weren't as many kids there as she expected (which was good because they were most likely celebrating with family), but we hung out with about 12 kids.

First, we made a turkey craft. We brought feathers, googly eyes and gems to glue on.

This sweet girl didn't talk much but she loved herself some GLUESTICK!

This is Cameron and he was a BIG fan of the hats, well basically of EVERYTHING. He definitely brightened my day. After we had been there for an hour or so I was doing something and he came up and hugged my leg. I didn't turn around because I figured it was Noah. Then when I realized it was Cameron, I bent down and gave him a big hug. His older sister Caitlin goes to Leslie's school and is super smart and part of GT.

I sat next to Jayden while he made his turkey and he wanted to glue everything on top of each other. He didn't want to talk much but really loved his hat.

Next, we colored a turkey. We had planned to play a dice game, but the majority of kids were young so we just colored it. Some of the Mothers sat at the table and helped their kids or colored/crafted also.

Noah and Zay were playing outside on the playground with other kids while we were there. Cecil and Connor walked around inside and outside and talked to everyone.

Next we gave the kids little blowup guitars, microphones and silly sunglasses. Then, Leslie read them all a Thanksgiving story.

Mom took a picture of our little family of three.

When we were leaving one boy asked me if they got to keep the toys we gave them. After I nodded, he said 'Yessss!!!'
These pictures of Jayden might be my favorite from the day. He was so happy!!!

We told all our new friends bye and headed back to Leslie's to see Dad and Nana.

Once we got to Leslie's we watched a little football, and Noah tried on Connor's turkey hat! haha

Leslie gave Connor his Christmas present early and he LOVES it. He loves opening the seat up, pressing all the buttons, standing behind it and riding on it. He makes this face A LOT.

Before I took off his costume to eat dinner, we got a couple pictures with Nana. She was so sweet with him. She loved watching him play and kept saying 'She's so precious' :)

When we Face timed Jackie later she said 'That's my Mom!' and 'That looks just like her.' I cannot even imagine how difficult Face Time is to process for her.

Leslie and Mom did the cooking and the meal was GREAT! Leslie is such a good host!

After lunch we watched a lot of football, played, maybe slept some, ate leftovers, watched more football, and then headed home around 8:00.

I am so thankful for the life I have - especially these two.
