Valentine's Weekend 2016

We didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day, per say, it was more of a whole weekend kind of celebration.

Friday morning (2/12) Connor and I hung out at the house and I let him play with the remote (sans batteries) for a few minutes while I read his entire school handbook. He thought he was BIG STUFF.

He continued to explore all over the house - opening drawers and pulling out everything.
And then getting stuck in one of the kitchen stools.

Before his naptime on Friday I put his hair in a quick ponytail. He didn't leave it in there very long, but I'm glad I did because we cut it that night!!

Cecil got home during Connor's nap and he got him out of bed when he woke up. They both handed me my valentine's card and I LOVED IT!
I mean, it is perfect

I'm the luckiest.

Kind of on a whim Cecil agreed to take Connor to get his hair cut for the first time.

Afterwards, we wanted to go our for our 'Valentine's Date.' We don't typically do much for Valentine's Day but we called it our Family Valentine's Date anyways.
Surprisingly (not), most restaurants had a long line on Friday 2/12.
We went to Johnny Carino's and got right in.

Side note: Aunt T gave Connor this Falcon when we went to Austin's basketball game and it is his new buddy in the truck.
He was NOT OK leaving him when we got out for dinner so he came along too. :)

Connor sat in a booster next to Cecil and loved eating the bread. We definitely have a carb fan.

I got chicken parm with spaghetti to share with Connor. Cecil chose Lasagna.

Look at my sweet boys. :)

Since it was a special occasion we got a dessert, even though we were both stuffed. We split a cheese cake and shared some with Connor. He really wanted more, and more, and then wanted to feed himself. It was pretty hilarious.

Saturday we got up and took Connor to Leslie's so that she could watch him for the day. We caught  Noah and Zay playing in the street with beards on. Just a normal day.

We met our sweet friends in Grapevine for a Sweethearts Wine Trail that we have done a few times before. We had a great time and enjoyed getting a little break away.

I took the selfie stick and got a few (often blury) pictures.
Please note: my wine coozie says: fully bodied, sweet and a bit nutty
Its the perfect description of ME!

This is how my husband wine trails - with a backpack, survivor style

Somewhere along the way we got into this inflatable photo booth and someone paid $5 for each of these pictures. Girls in the top photo and then most of the group on bottom. Cecil did not participate in the photo booth. I think he was too busy shopping at a boutique where he would lose his card that allows for the wine samples. Womp Womp.

It was a really fun day.

While we were wine trailing, Connor and the rest of my family were at my cousin's birthday party. I got a couple pictures of him with our cousin Addy (who I heard babied him all day long) and with Nana, my sweet 95 year old grandmother.

Around 4:30 we met my cousins at Top Golf for a little continued Birthday celebration.
My sweet cousin James.

Connor and my sweet niece in overalls (I die).

Look at that form!

Then Noah took my selfie stick and went to town!

Connor had had a L.O.N.G. day and had taken only about a 20 minute nap. Leslie said he wasn't fussy until I came around, but he definitely was getting sleepy/fussy.

We hung out for a few hours, ate some food, and enjoyed our family. I changed Connor into more comfy clothes so that we could put him straight to bed once we got home.

My brother and me, with our babies.

Cousins saying their goodbyes :)

And one big group shot before we hit the road.

Well Sunday (Valentine's Day) we woke up and I realized Connor had gone through his diaper - and then some.
So much for dressing him early.
Ooops

We got dressed (Connor in his Bachelor shirt and heart/arrow pants from Aunt T) and headed to breakfast at our favorite little restaurant. They happened to have balloons out and Connor kind of lost his mind over them and not being able to hold ALL of them.

After breakfast we picked up Noah and Zay and headed to Granny's house to celebrate his Pop's birthday.

Nana brought Connor a heart shaped ring pop to have. And he sure loves his sweets.
Just like his Mama.

Our nephew Austin (Noah and Zay's hero) was there.

I love seeing how sweet these two are together.

Nana pulled Connor around in a wagon.

The petted the neighbor's horses

And flew kites.

They rode in a go-cart.

Everyone in Cecil's immediate family was able to come and it was a really fun day. The boys played Soccer, Cecil and his Dad fixed scooters, they road the go-cart, flew kites, blew bubbles, and there was cake too! I think everyone had a great time.

Connor immediately fell asleep and Zay even looked tired in the car on the way home.

We went home and had a casual evening. It had seemed like a jammed packed weekend and we enjoyed our family time Sunday evening. We actually had the next day off for President's Day, but I'll include that in the final February Post.
