August was a fun month for our family. I've already bogged about some of it in previous posts, but follow along below and I'll reference back to them. :)
We wrapped up our New Mexico trip and drove home on Monday. You can see more about our trip below:
We went back to work on Tuesday and took Connor to get his Six Month Pictures on Friday. I think they turned out pretty great.
Saturday we went to Carlyn's wedding reception. They had a beautiful wedding in Colorado (but we weren't able to go) and had a reception here. It was great! Everything was decorated so pretty, they did a special dance and most importantly looked so in love and happy. I took one picture and stole the other one off Facebook
As weddings go, we didn't get to talk to Carlyn much, but had a great time catching up with Sara and Blake. Connor wore his Aggie colors for the occasion.
Mom and Dad got Cecil a drone while they were in London this summer. He started using it in our living room. I can say I think the camera on it is actually great. Can you see it hovering above the coffee table in this picture?
I just love tucking Connor in bed. I love breastfeeding him and then rocking him to sleep. It's my favorite time of the day. Sometimes I'll play on my phone and sometimes I just relax and decompress from the day. I just adore how squishy he is when he is sleepy - I take lots of pictures, but I edited my boob out so I could share this one.
Sometimes during lunch I make a visit up to Connor's school. On this occasion it made his day, clearly. He started reaching for us in August.
Connor really started sleeping on his tummy with his hinny in the air every night. I just love love it!
Leslie had new staff training, but Noah, Zay, Connor and I went to Babs house for a little swimming/cousin time. We had a great time with Marie, Turner, Hailey, Jack, Babs, Rachel & Leah. Noah and Zay think the diving board is the greatest thing ever and loved catching the ball Babs threw to them as they jumped off.
Poor Leah had just had her tonsils taken out and wasn't feeling too great. She had a make-shift hospital bed set up in the living room.
I love hanging out with Jack because it kind of prepares me for where Connor will be in three months. He had just started crawling at this point and Hailey told me, 'I don't get to sit still much' hahaha.
This is picture overload, but I love the progression of them 'sharing' Bab's bell.
We came home and played in our overalls from Nana
Michelle sent Connor a 'back to school' package. It was the cutest thing ever! Look at these great clothes! love them!!
Leslie came over to pick up the boys and we decided to make the teachers at her school a "survival kit" with a soda, candy bar, and hand sanitizer. It was quite the operation. Zay wanted to help but Noah wanted to watch TV. #typical
On Saturday we met some of our Fort Worth friends for a 'pre-baby' dinner. MC was getting ready to pop and we thought we needed one more night out before the baby arrived. Connor ended up being the only kiddo there. We ate at this cute restaurant in the stockyards that offers about five different kinds of chicken fried steak - Horseshoe Hill Cafe. A sweet man in line put his cowboy hat on Connor and we snapped a quick picture. What can I say? He's a Texan.
Look at this plate! It was gooooood.
Connor chewed on his horse and tasted a few mashed potatoes.
Unfortunately, we had to head home and put Connor to bed but everyone else stayed out. We took a few selfie pictures before we had to leave - I'm sure the guys loved it. haha
It took me awhile to figure out the selfie stick.
Girls (plus Connor) pictures
Group pictures. I was laughing so hard trying to get the picture to take.
I just love our crew!
I love how Connor is like "Mom - you are embarrassing. Put the selfie stick down" in this picture.
I mean, look at his face - he is mortified. hahahah
Sunday we woke up early and headed to our favorite breakfast spot. Connor is so nosy at restaurants. He will turn completely around and just stare at people - fine by me!
Then, Connor and I headed to Van Alstyne for the day.
Grams made us a delicious meatloaf dinner and Connor tried out the high chair.
When we got home Cecil had hung up Connor's swing. He had just woken up so wasn't so sure about it at the moment.
I worked on a pendant banner for Leslie's new room at school with left over fabric she had.
They opened up a new Home Goods by my work and so I headed there one day during lunch and got some blue to use in her pendant and accidentally bought a lamp for the front room.
This is the banner I made for her room - she picked the fabric. I think it turned out pretty cute.
This garland is above her marker board and I had previously made it for her house when we were in New Mexico but she didn't like it there. It works great in her classroom.
I continued to pump at work but it slowed WAY down. I moved to only pumping twice a day and was getting the same (small) amount.
The boys and I had a fun time celebrating the last day of summer.
I can't resist posting these pictures of Connor struggling to push out his BM.
Noah, Zay, and Leslie all started their first day of school.
Leslie babysat Connor overnight which was a pretty big deal. We went to 3C's birthday party at Martin House Brewery and Joe T Garcia's.
At the brewery we tried to get a picture of us with the Fort Worth skyline behind us. #photofail
Cecil had a lot of fun and was being silly at dinner. Jason (another nickname Cecil gave himself which has become known as 'tipsy Cecil') came out and our friend NS posted this picture online and said "Go meet Jason at Farmersonly.com" hahahahah
I really appreciated having a night out without the baby. It really was our first one together - SEVEN whole months after he was born. Much needed.
The next week Connor slept 10 hours one time and I got really excited. lol
We took Connor's 7 month pictures in his elephant chair.
#nailedit
Connor started wanting to pull up on things. During the morning he sits by me and plays while I put make-up on and I caught him trying to pull up on the bed. He kept getting his legs stuck underneath which was adorable.
I found out they brought Rainbow Chip icing back and my whole month was MADE.
Mom and Dad came in town for the weekend. We met them at BJs on Friday for dinner and apparently Connor threw up in the car after they had dropped me off. I thought it was just an isolated incident so we went on with our dinner in back up clothes.
Saturday we had a busy day planned!! We got up and started getting ready. I put Connor in his toy basket and told Cecil I was 'taking care of stuff' Aren't I cheesy funny?!?
First up, we had Nana's 95th birthday lunch. I had put Connor in an adorable outfit and sure enough he had a blow out while I was picking up Nana's corsage so he had to wear back-up clothes again to lunch. We had a great lunch. I can't believe she is 95! A lot has changed this year but she is still very loving and happy - and for that I am very thankful.
While we were at lunch I got the text that Baby Kaylee had been born. So exciting!!
We went back to Jenny's house and had dessert. We had each brought our favorite dessert that Nana made growing up. It was a FEAST. So good. I should have taken pictures of the food!!
Connor sat at a kid table for the first time and I'm not sure what he thought about it, but I think he was holding on for dear life!!
We got some pictures with Nana that are very special to me. Here is the whole Luttrell gang.

Four generations - my edition
Mother and kids
Silly - I love Nana's laugh in this one. So very her.
Cecil tried to get Connor to jump on the ball, but he heard, chew on the handle. He picked up that big ball all by himself.
I walked by and Cecil and Doug were both changing poopy diapers. Mom said this never would have happened in her generation. I'm glad things are getting better. Way to go Dads!!
I got this first glimpse of Kaylee and immediately fell in love.
I wanted to go see her at the hospital but our day was full and we had to keep trucking along. We went home for a second and then headed to Babe's Chicken in Arlington for Cecil's birthday dinner with his family. Of course, Noah was insistent that we were celebrating his 1/2 birthday also.
Then Zay of course wanted to be a chicken too. Cute brothers!
The next day, I went to the hospital and met Kaylee; she is precious!! Look at her long looong fingers.

I just love newborns
Cecil text me this picture and told me Connor had been sleeping for a really long time.
I got home and we realized he didn't feel too great - guess that throw up and those blow outs were not just teething! #ooops
At bedtime he cheered up a little and we put on his Batman PJs. He looks so big here!! I love how he is looking at his Daddy.
I love how chubby his feet are at this age.
Connor loves going to sleep with one of these little mini blankets. He rubs on it and picks at it while he nurses. Look at those wrist rolls.
Monday morning Connor and I headed to the doctor. He wasn't feeling great and I HATE waiting for the doctor when he is fussy. Its always hot in there and uncomfortable.
He started out in a pretty good mood.
But lost interest FAST and then we both wanted out of there ASAP!
I did notice this faint birth mark on him for the first time ever. I really don't know when it popped up but it has continued to get darker.
Mr Sass.
Our doctor's partner came in. Connor did NOT know what to think of him and just cautiously stared at him while he talked. Once he went to check Connor he freaked out. Can you see him trying to kick him away?!? lol Poor baby was terrified. I did the only appropriate thing - take pictures so I could show Cecil his pure terror.
He had a stomach bug and the doctor (not our usual one) said there wasn't anything we could do. Just to give him some probiotics twice a day, but it had to run its course.
Luckily Daddy came home soon and made it all better!
One of my favorite pictures EVER of them.
One of my favorite pictures EVER of them.
On 8/26 I picked up Connor from school and they said he had been pretty fussy. I stuck my finger in his mouth and he had his first tooth!! It was His middle lower one (on his right side).
With that, August was a wrap!
