October might be my very favorite month of the year. I just love how the weather cools off. We get to celebrate our Anniversary, enjoy football, celebrate Halloween, and gear up for Christmas!
We went to the Home Depot workshop for the second time and I think Noah and Zay were a little let down. In September we had gone and they had a bounce house, the Home Depot character and food/lemonade. This time we went they just had a couple tables set up. They explained that last time had been bigger because it was 'water conservation month' Oh! hahahah We thought we had hit the jackpot. Oh well, I think they boys still have fun!
They made cute fire trucks and then painted them as they pleased. Afterwards, we went to Academy and tried shoes on Connor for the first time (first time with a hard sole) and he was so unsure. Cecil said he acted like a cat with tape on her paw.
Zay LOOOOOVED everything about Academy. He wanted everything in the store, but he told me his two favorite things were the guns and knifes. So basically he loves weapons....great. They dropped me off to get my haircut and went shopping a little. Cecil is a good man to take all 3 kids to 'kill time' while I get my hair cut.
Later in the day, Cecil's Granny came over and held Connor while he napped.
We did a major cleaning out of things and threw some stuff away, donated things, and I had fun reading lots of notes from Middle School. I can say I am definitely embarrassed at my behavior. #meangirls
While cleaning out some things, I found a couple Christmas presents that had been left in Angel Fire when Mom and Dad made their hurried exit to get to Peru when Turner was born. These two are from Grams to Ampa and I loved seeing how interested Connor was in them. Wish us luck this Christmas!
From our room I caught Connor playing with his baby soother that is in his crib. This makes me happy because he still needs to work on his 'self-soothing.' Every time he gets sick we of course go into his room for every cry and it sets us back in his sleeping schedule.
Look at these sweet sleeping pictures I captured. :)
This is how he has been sleeping - snuggled up to a blankie, on his tummy, with his hands tucked and his booty in the air. Its my favorite.
We had a Columbus Day Weekend that started out super busy but ended pretty calm.
One weekday Connor could just not bring himself to get dressed so he wore his PJs (hotties if you are Noah) to school. After I picked him up Cecil and I met at Wal-Mart before going to dinner.
We went home and Connor played with more of his African music toys. He Loooves them.
I worked on a Halloween wreath. To see the rest of our Halloween fun look at our Halloween post.
I tried copying the tutorial from Momfessionals and I was happy with the way it turned out.
Saturday morning we got Connor dressed and went to have Family pictures/Connor's 9 month pictures taken at a park in Fort Worth. I think they turned out pretty well. Don't I have such cute boys?
Sunday Lauren came over with her two sweet girls and we had some fun. First off, Emma loving on Connor. hahahahahah I could not love these pictures more.
Her love is intense.
We played with lots of toys inside
Then, we took the kids outside and put them in the shade on a quilt and tried to get a couple pictures. Lauren is so good at taking pictures of her kids regularly with her good camera. I am still intimidated by our good camera. The first one is silly, but I think the second one really turned out cute - so I'm a little more encouraged to do it more often.
One Wednesday a got a phone call from Connor's school during the middle of the day. They started with 'Connor is OK, but.....'
Apparently, Connor was a little too optimistic when he got dressed in his "BEST DAY EVER" shirt. He had his first incident report at school. Thankfully he was the victim of the biting incident. They school isn't allowed to tell us which 'friend' bit him. hahahah but I can tell it is someone with 4 teeth. They said that the treated him with ice and lots of hugs and kisses. :)
I just hope Connor doesn't become a bitter like his cousin Noah was.
I went to Leslie's to take a quick one hour nap during lunch one day and saw Noah had made his bed like this. Apparently Hip Hop Harry wanted to ride the weiner dog. hahahah I love kids!!

Cecil decided Connor was done with his kiddie tub and was ready to just sit in the bath tub. I think Connor was really proud of himself! :)
Mom gave us her old living room rug and Cecil wasn't sure about it but I convinced him to try it out for a couple days and then he was sold too. It's a little more traditional than we are but the quality was better and it brightened up the room more than our rug.

I was having a stressful day and while I was on the way to pick Zay up from school to go to Gram's house for our Halloween Party. These cute little ducks walking in a row gave me such a happy pick me up. It was just the thing that I needed to stop stressing and appreciate how wonderfully simple life should be.
After a fun Halloween filled weekend in Van Alstyne, Connor and I came home to see Cecil had done some work on the house. He's pretty handy! Nana came over and then we met Tammi, Austin, and Liam for lunch at Texas Roadhouse. Connor wore his little letter jacket Cecil had bought him and I might be a little biased but I think he was looking extra cute.
We went home and Cecil's Dad and Granny came over to visit.
Connor loves his Aunt T.
Look how much Austin towers over his grandfather.
I think this is a pretty good picture of 4 Hodges.
Cecil sent me this picture of the Cow canvas I ordered for him up in his office. I looove it. :) Isn't he the cutest!
I tried to take Zay and Noah lunch one day (it was Bright Color day or red ribbon week and Noah KILLED it). Unfortunately I missed Zay because his lunch is at 10:45!!!!! But I made it up to him a couple weeks later.
We took Connor's 9 month pictures and he was pretty cooperative so I didn't have as many funny outtakes as we did for 8 Months.
And after Halloween --- October was a wrap and it was time to start CHRISTMAS!!!!!! In our house November is part of the Christmas season.
