Mexican Vacation

Cecil and I went on a 4 night trip to Mexico. Apparently I took a vacation from taking pictures too.  Below is what I have....

We wanted to get away and when our friends Lauren and Wes said they were going to Mexico for their five year anniversary - we jumped on the bandwagon. We had attended their wedding five years prior at the same resort and had both had such a great time so it worked out well.

Cecil and I had breakfast at the airport. :)
My picture game started out strong, but it is all downhill from here.

On the way to the resort I asked Cecil what he was most looking forward to and he said snorkeling. He said he wanted to see a sea turtle and pet it. I giggled and thought that was a cute dream. I told him I was most looking forward to the pool bar - because I'm classy and all about culture.

We got to the resort and checked in. Our room wasn't going to be ready for a few hours so we went to Lauren's room to change and head to the pool. I just loooove a pool bar. Its my favorite part of resort life.

The first night we went to the Japanese restaurant and it was goooood. I had surf and turf. I definitely think this resort has stepped up their food quality since we visited 5 years ago. Bravo.

Cecil and Wes practically matched.  I got these pictures from Lauren. :)

Friday morning Cecil and I went snorkeling, then met up with our friends and played water polo, and enjoyed the pool.
Here are our sweet friends Lauren and Wes

I loved catching up with Lauren. Its been a long time since we've had conversations without kids around. :) Even though I'm sure most our conversations were about kids.

Friday we ate at the Steakhouse and had Mayan coffee. I love watching them make the Mayan coffee tableside.

Friday morning we finally got our Wi-Fi working and I sent Leslie this picture of my sunburn

We went snorkeling Friday morning and saw some people gathering around something and we went over and discovered they had found some sea turtles. They told us that they love bananas and we saw them - I actually touched one. It was magical.

After snorkeling we went to the pool. Cecil did water aerobics. I was really impressed with how active Cecil wanted to be on our vacation.  Later in the day, Cecil played volleyball and Lauren, Wes and I played water volleyball. We did not win.

Lauren took this of us before our dinner at the Spanish restaurant.

The lobster risotto was very good and I stole this picture from Lauren. Yumm

Sunday was our last day and I don't think I'll ever forget it. :) After breakfast we took some bananas and headed out to find those sea turtles. I got ready first and went out to meet Wes and Lauren in the water and right as I said. "Now how do we get them to come to us?" They showed up! We immediately jumped underwater and started feeding them. They loved it. There were two that swam with us and they were just so beautiful. They both loved the bananas, but only one of them would eat the peel. I got one to eat out of my hand and I felt his sharp mouth on my fingers. They let us touch their shells and I even got to touch their front (legs?) a couple times. It was just the best part of the whole trip. It was so magical to see these creatures in their natural habitat.

We also saw huge white stingrays that just blended in with the beautiful white sand at the bottom of the ocean, some really pretty fish, and I saw a couple small jellyfish. We love snorkeling. Here are a couple pretty pictures Lauren took right after we snorkeled.

Luckily, Lauren and Wes had brought these Doddles (blow up noodles) for us to use while snorkeling. They worked pretty great. Look at that happy girl -- turtle love.

We went back to the pool bar and hung out.  We ended up making some friends. It was their first day at the resort and they didn't last long at the bar. haha

I just love this friend of mine and the vacations we have shared.

This is a group picture before dinner (again at the Japanese restaurant) on our last day.

Since it was Sunday we watched a little football on the big screen while we waited for dinner.

We didn't see as many of these guys as we have in the past, but we saw a few.

Monday morning we packed up and headed to the airport. Apparently Cecil is Sisu in Spanish. :)

Here are a couple more pictures I stole from Lauren. Isn't it beautiful!?!
