Halloween 2015

Well I'm glad we celebrate early and often because Connor came down with croup on October 30th and I was more than a little disappointed we didn't get to tote him around our neighborhood and Leslie's neighborhood trick or treating.

Connor had a couple cute Halloween outfits this year. I think I ordered two of them from Old Navy last year on clearance. On October 12th (Columbus Day) I had Noah, Zay, and Connor because both of their schools were closed. We went to the grocery store and picked up a couple pumpkins along with the regular groceries.

Connor really started to get around in the month of October. He mastered the crawl and we were surprised when he ended up in the kitchen playing with the pumpkin after we had left him in the living room. #timetobabyproof

He was trying to pick up the pumpkin and was so proud of himself when he got it to roll a little. Please ignore his "I just ate dinner and am waiting on a bath" face.

We took Connor's 9 month pictures that included a couple of pumpkins!

At first I was going to dress Connor up like Cecil or a biker, but Leslie made me realize that he will never be this small again and I should dress him in something cutesy, not just funny. I was texting Leslie that if I had a daughter she would be a peacock and then I saw this ----basically a boy version of a peacock AND how many boy costumes have tulle??!?! I sent this picture to Cecil and ordered it as soon as I got the go ahead.  I'm expecting to get a couple wears out of this at Thanksgiving too. :)

It was like Christmas for me when it came in the mail! Yay Yay! I immediately tried it on Connor and he has never like wearing hats (except his helmet really didn't bother him) so he HATED the head piece and really wanted that part OFF.

But I was in LOVE. #hearteyes

The weekend before Halloween Michelle and her kiddos were visiting for a family wedding in McKinney on Sunday so we had all planned to stay at my parents house. I had wanted to have a Halloween party on Friday that ended up being kind of small, but PERFECT. We packed up, said bye to Daddy, and headed to Van Alstyne.

I had planned on dressing Connor up like a biker (with a Harley Davidson cutoff, Bat beanie, jeans, and eyeliner goatee) for the party and then Turkey for Halloween, but he was having blowouts like crazy that weekend and pooped on the outfit before I even finished the beard. #frownface
I'm glad I packed the turkey outfit too. So we put that on him (and I'm glad we did since we ended up not trick or treating).

He still wasn't so sure about that head piece

And then he was done with the photo shoot and OFF

Our friends started showing up and we had a great time catching up with some old friends/having Mommy time while we corralled the babies.
Michelle's whole group was scarecrows - so precious!! Well.... Cinco and her compromised on being a 'Super scarecrow' with a cape. Amali declared she would be the crow (her costume was my FAVORITE) and Aster complied. Isn't Michelle the cutest - she is a supermom and definitely my hero!!

I love the face Connor is making at some wild kid (most likely Cinco) while Laura was holding him.

I got up to grab a plate of food (Mom made the BEST ham sandwiches and Michelle was so sweet to bring drinks, snacks, and hot dogs all the way from Austin). I turned around with my food and Cinco had started playing with Connor. hahahah

I think Cinco wants him to hurry up and grow up so they can wrestle.

I didn't take enough pictures, but we had a great time. It was raining outside so we stayed indoors. We played the 'donut on a string' game and I gave all the kiddos a goody bag.
During the donut game Carrie was holding Connor and Amali went up to him and said, "Connor, your Mommy is THE BEST!" Not to brag or anything...... hahhah
I just love being Auntie to the Rodz kids.
Connor seemed hot so I changed him into his Skeleton pajamas that Mom had gifted me at my shower last year, see that post here.

Connor did not sleep well at night and I had not lowered his crib at their house. After I put him in it I saw his glow in the dark skeleton trying to pull up on the side so he "slept" in bed with me. It was a long night.

The next morning we got up and played with our cousins. Connor rode on the puppy dog that Grams has held onto for 30 years.

Aster has gotten so big since last time I saw her and she is just so pretty! I can't wait to see Connor and her grow up together. (please note his guitar mummy outfit - it was one of the first things I bought for our baby)

Aster came in the living room with a new accessory! Kids are just the best!!

I think they are in love. #heartemoji

Cinco is ALL BOY and rough and tumble (Michelle said Zay and him are energy soul mates - and I agree!). I know he just is so ready for Connor to be ready to wrestle. I love that he gets to have boy time around our family since his is girl dominate.

He just loves so intensely. I can't wait to watch him teach Connor how to climb and play swords.

We did a little pumpkin art. Amali's was ADORABLE. I wish I had gotten a picture. She is so sweet and grown up. I just love her inquisitive mind and sweet nature. She loves playing with Noah and telling me Connor is so cute.

We played a few games, stacked Tupperware, watched football and relaxed all day Saturday and it was the best.

Progression of Connor's nap and three best friends sisters (at a very unflattering angle)

The week of Halloween Connor played dress up at school. I'd say he is a pretty happy pumpkin.

Friday morning we got ready for school in our mummy "costume." I stayed home and got some work done. Cecil was able to come home early so he and I actually had a 'date lunch' around 2pm. Connor's school called and suggested we take him to the doctor. :(

We went to the doctor and learned Connor had croup. They told us he had a viral infection that was causing his vocal cords to swell and that he was contagious. Bummer. #sadface

We went ahead and went to Leslie's house that night to see Grams & Ampa who had come intown for the weekend. I think these boys love their Grams - she is the best!

On Halloween morning everyone went to Fright Fest....

....while we did this

Saturday afternoon I went to Leslie's by myself. Mom, Marie, Leslie and I went to get pedicures & manicures. It was so good to see Russell, Marie, and Turner. Isn't Turner the cutest little pumpkin?!?

She has the best smile. She has her two bottom teeth and is really started to cut her top two teeth. She loves chewing on a toothbrush.

Marie brought a WONDERFUL beef stew and this cute Halloween blow up.

Zay and Noah were looking so cute and were so excited. I was sad we didn't get to go trick or treating with them. I think I convinced everyone to wear their costumes again at Thanksgiving so we could get pictures with Connor. #crossyourfingers

I went home and handed out candy to a few kiddos, did laundry, and snuggled a sick baby. Not how I pictured our first Halloween with Connor, but I'm glad we had some celebrations. Next year, that boy WILL be trick or treating! #ghostemoji
